Mission:
Lost Friends
Location: Bridge and Atrometrics
Timeline: Current
[ON]
Zhukov was the first one onto the bridge. He went over to the Flight Control station and relieved Junior Grade Lieutenant Davizzi who was making a marked improvement in her piloting abilities.
He nodded at her as he sat in the leather chair and looked down at the console. His hands moved slowly over the warm brightly lit controls in front of him. He glanced at the various display readings and quickly attained the ship's bearing. He tapped in his command codes and attained full access to the piloting controls.
The rest of the senior staff was now also beginning to take their places on the bridge. Zhukov quickly began to enter the coordinates of the last known position of the Archimedes and placed the warp speed indicator at 9.95.
He turned slightly in his chair, looking over his shoulder at Captain Halliwell. "Captain, course and speed entered as you requested." he said to her, waiting for her command. "ETA, twenty-six hours, forty-four minutes, Captain."
“Take us there, Commander,†she said simply, following Drake out from her ready room after their own private discussion.
"Aye, Captain. Engaging now." said Zhukov as he tapped on the controls and felt the ship every so slightly lurch forward out of orbit and engage the warp engines.
T'mpest took a seat near the back to watch Vladimir pilot the ship out of orbit.
T'kaarch was still in the observatory, but reported in via the comm system: "Captain, I'm still finishing up the rrreporrrt on Overrrton, I will be rrright therrre."
“Make it quick, Lieutenant. I wanted that report before the briefing,†she said sternly through her own combadge. Thinking further she added, “I’d appreciate it if you were to remain in the Astrometrics lab to assist Lieutenant Blake with the upcoming sensor data, however.â€
"Yes Captain. Sorrrry Captain, T'kaarch out, Captain," was the reply after which the comm signal was silent again.
Halliwell impatiently tapped her combage and deactivated the line from her. She faced forward, watching as the stars rushed past either side of the viewscreen as the fifteen decked ship ploughed fluidly through space. Turning to her XO, she leant in and sighed. Speaking quietly, she uttered, “I’m going to ask for assistance. I know what I just told you but I believe that you’re right. We should be ready."
"I can take the Bridge and leave you to it in private." Drake replied, never taking his eyes off the viewscreen, like they might be two spooks having a clandestine meeting in a crowded square. "Your call."
Halliwell nodded silently, in a proud, almost comforted expression. "Thank you," she uttered

T'kaarch quickly finished his report, then walked out of the small office he had been working in to be greeted by Lieutenant Blake.
Leaning over the central console Dylan Blake feel increasingly frustrated by the lack of progress made so far in locating the Archimedes and understanding how she seemingly vanished. His thoughts were interrupted by the hissing sound from the door behind him. A quick glance revealed it was only T'kaarch, his prickled colleague whom the captain had assigned to assist him, though that was some time ago now.
"Lieutenant." T'kaarch purred coolly, as he tapped one of the monitors to attention and flicked on the sensors.
"Nice of you to finally join in," Blake remarked sarcastically.
Ignoring him, T'kaarch first threw out a sensor sweep for energy signatures towards the position the Archimedes was last sighted. "Nothing at all..." he purred in thought as he worked the sensors to increase and decrease the resolution to try and pick up anything.
Watching him from his location Dylan gave the scicetist a sideways glance, "How about searching for masses, something hidden, cloaked maybe should still show mass."
"Fine," T'kaarch's tail was swishing annoyedly. He re-calibrated the sensors to pick up masses. "Debrrris... A starrr..." He touched his finger on different spots as he tried to analyze what he saw, but it was nothing conclusive.
"Metals, perhaps?" Blake pouted noting the irritated twitch to T'kaarch's tail
T'kaarch sighed. "All rrright, you arrre rrright." With the change, most of the mess on screen disappeared or changed color. "Hey," T'kaarch's finger dropped on a blue colored dot, "That's the composition of starrr fleet metal..." He increased the resolution to scan the immediate area.
Moving across to join him Blake peered over his shoulder with genuine interest, surprise that his ideas veiled a result. "You see, sometimes you have to explore all options no matter how trivial they seem."
The scan results revealed something more: It had the mass and composition of a probe.
T'kaarch tapped his comm-badge to inform the bridge. "T'kaarrrch to the brrridge, we have found a Starrrfleet prrrobe nearrr the last known coorrrdinates of the Arrrchimedes, sending you the coorrrdinates now"
