Mission: Balowlli System
Location: Bridge, Deck One
Timeline: Day One: 0930 hrs

ON:

Captain Kerr sat for a moment in thought after his crew had filed out of the conference room with an eagerness he enjoyed basking in. Having the Archimedes so stationary for so long, the Trill was itching to get back out into open space. And he was sure his crew, least of the Chief Flight Control Officer, agreed with his sentiment.

“Mr. Warner, he barked, stepping out onto the bridge and taking his seat next to Commander Arkham, “I believe you have the coordinates.

"Aye, Captain, course laid in bearing seven zero mark eight one seven. The fastest route to Balowlli is through the Arkaene Expanse at the foot of the Gahnnon system." Warner swiveled round from the CONN, facing the bridge. He had his fingers poised over the initiation controls to match the course but understood that operations and engineering would come first. Kerr would want to make sure that his vessel was up to the job. A sly grin crossed the pilot's features. "We can expect some mild turbulence but nothing the Archimedes isn't prepared to handle, Sir."

Tapping his combadge, he hailed Engineering. “Lieutenant Sheedy, all systems go?

The bustle of engineering could only be compared to a bee hive swamping with thousands of workers desperate to complete the task needed. Sheedy wasn't an exception to the rule, neither Lieutenant Blake. He looked over to her but she gave no indication that she had heard the Captain's call.

Pausing to check everything was on-line and ready for departure Dylan touched his badge to reply. "Aye, Captain system’s are a go."

“Good work, Lieutenant Blake, Kerr replied, a subtle grin lining his jaw. Looking over to Shalie, the Trill nodded. “Lieutenant? How are we looking?

Shalie caught the nod from her Commanding Officer as she continued verifying her sensor readings. Everything was green to go. "Sir, I am showing all stations reporting in. Ready to leave space dock at your command." She smiled back at him as she finished speaking.

He smiled and turned back to face the viewscreen, in the direction of Ryan.

“Take us out, Lieutenant, he said, as Ryan tapped again at the dancing lights flashing before him. “Engage.

Each officer faced the screen as the pin-pricked blackness twisted and dragged across the screen. The fluorescent fittings dotted around the Archimedes’ hull sparked into life, the aft Warp nacelles beamed into light. The sleek body of the Science vessel reflected the light from the dock at all angles as it edged forward, leaving the docking bay behind and heading out into the open spree of the Galaxy.

The ship berthed one last time, arching her way further from the dry dock. After a moment to gather leverage in space, the Archimedes’ very essence was shot spectacularly into a fine silver streak, warping the very space and time around her. Before anyone could've blinked, the Archimedes has disappeared into a gleaming white chasm, leaving nothing but a thin trail of stardust...
