Mission: Ripples
[CONTINUED]
[OLD]
"Commodore Michaels, I really do suggest you comply with the instruction. Please also notify your shuttle to de-cloak and turn off the masking shield. We'll then escort you back to the station where your questions may be answered." came the disembodied voice again.
[NEW]
"Who are you and why should we trust you?" T'mpest asked.
“I’m no longer trying to hide Commodore,” the voice stated plainly, “and I’m the one with my finger on the bigger gun.”
"If they were looking for a peaceful solution they wouldn't need those bigger guns." Morgana replied quickly, looking over to T'mpest.
T'mpest nodded in agreement. "Find out who they are," she asked Morgana.
Morgana walked to a separate console and tapped onto it, unlocking it and bringing up a Intel Emblem. She put in a few codes which allowed her access to a particular list of information and she began to work through it, trying to use what little information they already had with the information they currently from Intel.
T'mpest turned to helm. "We will comply, for now. I want options before we get to wherever."

Orin stood there silently, overhearing the message from the other ship. He crossed his arms over his chest and looked around the cockpit. "I don't like this."
"I think I know of a way we can get an advantage, but it won't work a second time and its risky just to try it." Crow replied, turning his chair to face the others.
"Out with it, Mister Addy." Orin said sternly, looking over to him.
Crow looked around for a moment before clearing his throat and slowly saying. "We need to play chicken."
"That's crazy." Hot-Rod replied, swinging his chair around.
"He's right, Jack. That's nuts, even for you." John added.
"I know, but hear me out." Crow said, turning back to his console. "If we can rush them, evade at the last second, and skim their shields with ours it should be enough for me to pull a frequency for their shields."
John looked over to Orin and turned back to Crow. "If we're too close the ricochet from their shields might send us off course badly and it might be hard to recover."
"I can get us stable if that happens, but what good will that do? They'll change their frequency once they notice." Hot Rod replied, looking over to Orin for a reaction.
"That's why we need to make our shot count." Crow said, looking back to Orin. "With the frequency, we have two options. Option one: We hit them hard enough to disable their weapons or engines. Option two: We adjust our shields to theirs and slip through, positioning us in their blind spot."
"What good will that do?" John asked.
"Do we sill have any of those charges we used on Vorian?" Crow said with a smirk. "Two or three of those should be enough for us to transport into their engineering section and disable them."
John looked over to Hot Rod, who just shrugged, before he turned to Orin and said softly. "Its still nuts, but workable, Boss."
Orin looked at everyone before turning to Commander Cattmor and saying. "You should return to the Ranger. Something tells me, we're gonna ram this shuttle right into them if it means the Ranger will get away."
Crow looked over to John and asked. "He's joking, right? Tell me he's joking?"
"Does he ever joke with us, Crow?" John replied softly.
"Good point." Crow said softly as he turned back to face his console.
"That's suicide. You know that, right?" Miral said. "And how will that help the Ranger?"
"Only as a last resort, Lieutenant." John replied, looking over to Miral. "We've been in some pretty tough situations and have come out mostly unscathed. But, that doesn't change who we are. All of us, the team, have made a pledge to go at every problem with everything we got. It may seem stupid or crazy to you, but we've taken every mission with the understanding that we might die, because what we do serves a greater purpose. If we can give the Ranger a window to escape and keep these pricks from chasing after them, its a sacrifice we are willing to make, because it serves them and maybe, just maybe, they'll find a way home."
"Lieutenant?" Orin said sternly, his goggle covered eyes focused ahead of him. "I understand your hesitation and no one here has asked you to make the same commitment we've made, so you're welcome to return to the Ranger. Help them as much as you can, but ask yourself. Mister Addy's Plan. Would it work better with your or without you? Right now, that's the best we have and while we are hidden away and close to them, maybe your skills can get into their systems and pull more information to use. Maybe you can help us finish this without anyone dying, because believe me, I prefer to end this with no casualties on either side."
"Not if you plan a suicide run," Miral said. "That won't give any of us the time we need to get information from that ship--if we can."
"Excuse me, if I may," came a somewhat quiet injection to the conversation from Cattmor, "Granted, I'm just here as a guest, just a curious fascination with this group and equipment, but isn't it said that the best move is the one that reaps the highest gain with the minimal loss? This plan of Mister Addy's, while inventive, puts forth massive amounts of risk, including jeopardising our own lives, and those of the Ranger if it doesn't work. By all accounts we have access to now, those people out there are Starfleet. We don't know the situation, which places a dangerous precedence on our possible decision to utilise hostile actions. I don't think we should do it, it lays out too many variables with zero guaranteed gain." Rylie took a breath before going on, "We should stay hidden, as much as possible, to support the Ranger if need be. We shouldn't have to lay down our lives for a tactical advantage. If your team has been in similar situations before and got out of them, we should be able to do so again without resorting to daredevil tactics."
"I agree," Miral said. "We should stay hidden and see if this ship of yours can infiltrate their computers. That sort of information will be invaluable right now."
"Are you not paying attention? We can get all the information you both want. We can do this." Addy replied quickly, standing up from his chair before looking over to Orin. "Boss. We got this. This isn't anything new in our wheelhouse. The Ra was designed, by us, to work like this. It's not suicide." He said firmly, looking over to Rylie, than to Miral, before turning his gaze back to Orin. "It's doable, Boss. We got this. Your team has this."
