Location: Sickbay

Shortly after T'mpest heard of the arrival of the Keen's baby, she made her way to sickbay to congratulate the couple.
Adriana was getting some well deserved rest; the latest feeding was over and Little Anthony was not fussy but he let out a burp that was noteworthy and showed him to be very healthy. Father Keen had the little guy nestled on his shoulder and was walking about so to be away from Mommies and give her some rest.
He had learned from the nurse the proper way to 'pat' the little lad to help promote the release of the gas. Of course things were still such a learning curve that he could not really get an idea of what he was in for?
Anthony has used up the energy for his feeding so he was just closing his eyes.
Adriana leaned back into her pillows with a sigh. They had recently finished his first feeding, which had been rather frustrating for both of them, really. Latching problems, to begin with, and Anthony didn’t seem to be getting much. The nurse assured Adriana that such problems were not at all uncommon and she shouldn’t worry about them. They would learn together.
But later. Because she was exhausted. She looked over at Morai, pacing with the baby just outside her recovery alcove of sickbay, and she smiled a little watching them.
T'mpest walked up to Morai and smiled. "Congratulations, Commander. May I inquire as to the child's name?"
Keen; being the proud father , turned the face towards the Captain and with a warm smile unlike any seen; the last of his stone Vedek had fallen away, he met the Captain's eyes.
"Anthony..." He tried to let the most light illuminate the face. "Little Anthony of the Keen Clan."
T'mpest smiled and walked closer to the two, running a gentle finger down the baby's cheek. "A fine name for a fine son. How is your wife doing?" she asked, still looking at the baby.
"Radiant but tired." Keen said with a smile. "I try to give her chances to get some rest and when Anthony is calmed down he nestles right into her, I am almost jealous but then they have been together a while so I understand their need to be close on occasion." Keen hoped it came across as humor; he was working on that?
T'mpest wasn't sure if it was a joke or not, but assumed it was. "Yes. I have a gift for your wife. I think she would appreciate it if it came from you." She handed Morai a small box with a new rank for Adriana.
"I think you should ma'am; I can keep Anthony from playing with them but it would mean more if from you." Keen Smiled. "Strictly from a husband knowing his wife angle."
"Is your wife up to having visitors?" T'mpest asked.
"Of course Captain." He said while soothing Anthony.
Adriana pushed herself back up to a sitting position. "Captain? Of course, yes, come in," she said and hastily tried to smooth her hair back. She was sure she looked horrible and she mostly wanted to sleep for a week or so. But when the Captain had something to say to you, you didn't argue that you hadn't had your beauty sleep.
"Greetings," T'mpest said, smiling at Adriana. "You have a beautiful little boy."
"Thank you, Ma'am," she said as she glanced out the door where her husband almost had Anthony asleep again. "What can do for you, Captain? I don't think I left any projects unfinished," she said a little nervously.
"I do not want to take up too much of your time, but I did want to give you this," the Captain said, handing Adriana a box.
Adriana took the box and looked at it a little uncertainly before she flipped up the lid. ""Senior Chief!" she blurted out in surprise when she saw the emblem of a Senior Chief Petty Officer. She wasn't due for a promotion any time soon- and with taking time off for maternity leave, she hadn't been expecting one for quite a while, possibly not until her next reenlistment when she was faced with 'up or out'. That was usually when Adriana got her promotions; while she had decent reviews every time she came up for one, she was also a little more... relaxed than Starfleet liked their personnel to be, and her big mouth had cost her a promotion more than once. Getting one out of the blue, right on the heels of the difficult labor and still wallowing in hormones, threw her for a loop. "I- I don't- Thank you, Ma'am, I'm just not sure this is the time," she stammered, unsure how to take this unexpected news.
"There is never a good time," T'mpest said. "As far as I am concerned, this is perfect. You have time to get used to your new rank while you are on leave. I for one think this is long past due."
