"Computer, begin log. Lieutenant Brendan Dernah's personal log stardate 63834.1: This is getting annoying. I am sitting here for the second week in a row at Starbase 21 and awaiting for my next assignment. No one here has any idea of what I am doing here and not on a ship where I am truly needed.
I have heard, 'through the rumor mill', that I am to be assigned to a Nova-class starship. I am worried that I will have nothing to do once I get there, since Novas are rarely used in combat. So I am thinking that I will be posted to a Nebula- or a Galaxy-class ship where my talents can be utilized to their full potential.
"Computer, pause log." Brendan was feeling the affects of a serious migrane, an affliction that reared its ugly head after the timeshift that he experienced on the Olympic. He reached for his hypospray of Triexaline, held it to his neck and pressed to button. Feeling the medicine swiftly taking effect, he went back to work.
"Computer, resume log."
I guess I should let all this talk of assignments to itself and focus on other more important things. Too bad I have nothing pressing at the moment to focus on.
"Computer, save log and Brendan file Rho-one-one-seven," and with that said, he was off to the gymnasium for a nice, long workout.
