Mission: Sowing the Seeds
Location: Captain's Quarters
Timeline: Some time after we've left the Dubai

ON:

Weary with duty and responsibility, Elsie had made the short walk from the bridge to her quarters to retire for the evening and recharge her failing batteries. She absentmindedly walked the still, bleak corridors to her door like a sweeping ghost floating through an estate of old. The doors to her quarters opened and she padded her way in.

Unbeknownst to her, another person was in the room. Suddenly, this person, a familiar looking small Ferengi, cartwheeled through the room, landing on Elsie's table in front of her.

Jutted out of her daydream, a thunderbolt jolted through her as her slender hand instinctively shot to her left breast. "Security to the captain's quarters!" she blurted out, falling back with shock to the door, having to grasp at a small bookcase to steady herself.

"Captain, captain! No need to be hasty. I have no ill intentions and I just want to talk." Fer pleaded. "Anyway, what do you intend to do? Throw me out the airlock? Hee hee hee hee hee."

"The brig more like!" she angrily countered, climbing to her feet and bearing down on the intruder. "What on Earth are you doing here! Explain yourself!" Elsie's face had now contorted into an angry disgust that would not be easily wiped.

"I would like to tag along," Fer seemed completely unaffected by either the anger of the captain, or the fact that a security team would be at the door in mere seconds, "I'm a capable pilot, and a brilliant cook, and I found myself in here this morning."

"Found yourself?" Elsie trembled, a hard lilt of anger edging her voice. "What do you mean 'found' yourself?"

"Most likely a joke by... someone." Fer grinned, "I wasn't exactly liked by my crewmates on the Dubai. Hee hee hee" His cackling laugh reverberated through the room.

At that point the door slid open and 2 burly security officers, hand on their holstered phasers. "Captain?" The serving lieutenant queried, "what should we do with him?"

Elsie spun around and then waved them off with a casual and terse hand. "My mistake, crewmen," she then said, turning to face them fully. "You can stand down." She locked eyes with one of them and added, "But find out how an unauthorised transport was able to occur without either yours or my knowledge. Especially into my own quarters. Dismissed!"

She now turned her attention back to the disgusting Ferengi stood before her. "We need to return you to your captain before Ranger and the Dubai move too far apart in this mission."

"Well, I wouldn't want to be responsible for you losing two days of travel to return me to the Dubai... Wouldn't you like me to cook for you? Hee hee."

Elsie took in a deep, clearly frustrated breath and then placed her open palm on her head with a like I need this aggravation! cadence that was not too subtle. "No cooking!" she barked, wagging her finger defiantly. "And I'll need to discuss your absence from the Dubai with Captain Jenner before a temporary solution can be sought. Until then," she then added, leaning in her face to Fer's, "I'll have my yeoman assign you some crew quarters so you don't have to bunk here. But you keep out of trouble and out of my way. Am I clear?"

"No cooking? You don't know what you miss!" With another cackling grin, Fer took a bow. "But I shall do as you say, mon capitan." He cartwheeled off her table, towards the door. "Now, if you'd excuse me, I'd have excused myself, but that door of yours is a sack of potatoes if ever I saw one! And being a cook, I saw a few! Hee hee hee hee!"

Elsie quickly furrowed her brow in utter confusion and then understood why the little terror had been transported off his own ship. She looked to the two security officers and then said to the superior, "Escort him to whatever room Andrews assigns him, Fletcher. And make sure he stays out of trouble!"

With a look of confusion and disgust, Lieutenant Fletcher looked at the creature. "Uh.. Please, this way" he grunted, hoping that he wouldn't actually need to handle the creature. And with that, Fer the Jester disappeared, with escort, into the hallway, leaving Captain Halliwell -finally- alone.
