Mister Spikes is Busy

Jimmy crashed a bunch of PADDs on his salon table, then turned to grab himself a cup of tea from the replicator.

Holly appeared behind him. "Hello, Mister Spikes."

Slightly startled, but starting to get used to it, he turned around. "It's Lieutenant Cooper, Holly. And could you please stop appearing whenever you like?"

Holly had the somewhat unpleasant property that she could appear in the room whenever she wished; In addition, time wasn't her forte. Once, she'd even woken him in the middle of the night.

"Well, it's Admiral Holly for you" She sneered with a smile.

Meanwhile, Jimmy had reached the replicator. "Cinnamon Tea. Sweetened. Hot." As the replicator worked, Holly came closer. "So what are we going to do tonight?"

"The same thing as we do every night, Holly..." Jimmy turned towards her with his tea. "I need to work, and you are going to do something for yourself."

"Aaww.." Holly sat down on the nearest chair, sulking.

Satisfied with this response, Jimmy sat down on the couch and took the upper PADD from the table - It included most of the information as collected by the earlier mission to Taylforth. Before long he looked at Holly, who hadn't moved. It wasn't that he didn't like her - in fact, if he'd were a bit younger he'd probably have fallen for the whole rebellious schoolgirl type - but she really could be a nuisance every now and then.

"What?" Holly prompted.

"Nothing... How about you go off and see how the ship is doing? I need to concentrate on this."

"Oh, so I'm a nuisance?"

"I didn't say that," but I thought it, Jimmy added in his mind.

"Bah, fine! Looking at you reading isn't much fun either. But don't expect me to come home before sundown, Dad"

"I'm not your..." but Holly was already gone. Jimmy sighed, but at least he could focus on his work now. He grabbed a second PADD which included a manifest of the Science crew, and a third to make notes. Hopefully he'd find what he needed before 'sundown'.
