T'kaarch nodded confidently as Commander T'mpest disappeared into the transporter beam. Holly immediately re-appeared, sweating and back to her female self.
"We should get out of here, T'kaarch," she said serious, slightly scared.
"I'm almost at the transporrrterrr contrrrols..." T'kaarch was tapping frantically on the science console. "Yes!" He exclaimed as he decrypted the transporter controls.
Unfortunately, he had cheered too soon, because as he tried to beam them out the controls shut him out again. "No!" He exclaimed, now frustrated.
Holly stood behind him, her arms around his waist. "You know... If we don't get out of here... I'm happy you're here."
"We'rrre getting out of herrre!" T'kaarch said, though he didn't sound as convinced as he wished to be. He kept frantically trying on the teleporter controls. He finally made another bit of progress, but then another explosive device went off, and the on-board computer warned "Structural Integrity failing, Warp core critical." - It also knocked T'kaarch off the science station, valuable seconds he couldn't afford to miss.
Holly grabbed him from the floor, then hugged him, to the frustration of T'kaarch. "Let me go!" Holly, scared, let him go, but not because she really wanted. The floor started to tilt as the ship started to disintegrate around them.
One button press, two, three, then another explosion. T'kaarch was almost there. Finally, he unlocked the teleporters, but then the console behind him exploded, smacking him around and burning him badly. "That... button!" he screamed before his light went out and he fell unconscious.
Holly, terrified, first kneelled at T'kaarch, then realised they didn't have time. In panic she pressed the button, which activated the internal teleporters, but not before another explosion destroyed a holo-emitters, damaging her matrix.
