T'mpest selected one of her favorite Scottish Highland programs. This one had a nice little walk through the hills to a small lake. She would often go walking here when she wanted to think or relax.
Tonight, it would be a good way to show Vladimir a little about her Scottish heritage. When the door opened she took off her sandals. "Computer, hiking boots, women's size 7."
A pair of boots materialized and she quickly slipped them on. "Sandals don't last very long in the highlands." With a grin, she stood and turned to Zhukov. "All set."
Zhukov smiled back at her. He hadn't thought about footware. "Do you think I need to change out of these boots?" he asked her.
"No. Your boots should be fine. My sandals, however, are a problem," she said with a chuckle.
"Alright then. Lead the way." he said to her as the doors to the Holodeck opened to reveal the landscape. The hills were green, very green, and rocky. The sky was gray with a breeze blowing fog and mist in between the hills. Zhukov immediately noticed how cool it was and it sent a little chill through him. He should have brought a waterproof jacket. He hoped that the walking would warm him up a bit.
"It won't rain this time," she assured him as they began. "A cold, drizzly rain is not the best wan to spend an evening." Especially with someone she liked.
As they walked, she pointed out different items of interest. A rock outcropping, an unusual tree, the heather. Sometimes there was a tale involved. Sometimes it was just the history of the place she found interesting.
The scenery was beautiful and Zhukov was having a good time. At that moment, Zhukov felt like he could listen to T'mpest talk all day about the Highlands. She was so knowledgeable about the area, and about so many other things. She was certainly beautiful and even though the sky was dark and gray, he couldn't help noticing the way her eyes lit up as she talked.
Zhukov had a soft spot in his heart for Vulcans anyway. One of his best friends growing up was a Vulcan, and he always admired their dedication to whatever it was they were doing.
After a while they skirted a small hill and came to a lake. "Loch Byrnes," T'mpest announced. "Nothing remarkable about it. No sea monsters. No mysterious drowning. Scotland is so full of tales and stories it's sometimes nice to find a place that doesn't have one. I've gone swimming here a time or two. The water's cold but clear." She sat down on a clump of grass and leaned back against a rock. "'Tis a peaceful place."
Zhukov sat down next to her and took her hand in his. "It is...very lovely." he said as he took a deep breath. "And I don't just mean the scenery." Vladimir said with a smile.
He slowly turned to face her and leaned in for a soft kiss on her lips.
When Vladimir pulled back a little, T'mpest reached up with one hand and gently caressed his cheek. Then she smiled tenderly, leaned in and kissed him again.
