Jonas sat back in his chair and took in a deep breath, then let it out slowly. He didn't like that he was leaving a large Starfleet contingent on Citadel Prime, without a starship in orbit to provide assistance and support. The Sentinel had been held up and wouldn't be arriving for a few more weeks, and with the rest of the Task Force heading out, the team left on Citadel would be left without the resources of a starship.

Jonas activated his console and brought up the federation fleet deployment chart. Using the same search method he had used to find the Commander Oshea's Sentinel he brought up the list of starships awaiting orders and just finishing up a mission. After a few minutes of searching, a ship caught his eye.

"The USS Archimedes," he said to himself. "Computer bring up service record for Commander Coltan Lane, USS Archimedes."

Jonas skimmed through the impressive service record, "Quick promoter, made commander of under 10 years."

He brought up the specifications on the Archimedes. Nova class, would be a good addition to the task force. "Computer activate comm, I'd like to speak to Commander Lane aboard the USS Archimedes."

As Commander Lane and Lieutenant Commander Arkham walked from Main Engineering, through the twisting corridors, to the turbolift, the intercom beeped loudly throughout the section.

=A= Ops Station to Commander Lane: I have a Captain Sheppard of the Nagasaki on subspace for you… =A=

Swiftly tapping his combadge, he replied, =A= Aye, Chief. We’re on our way to my Ready Room. Patch it through there once I’m up. =A=

He closed the channel and raised a subtle eyebrow to his First Officer. “The Nagasaki??� he questioned her. “Are you familiar with Sheppard, Ms Arkham??�

Arkham nodded. "Quite. I've heard good things. Rose through the ranks quickly, spent quite a bit of time aboard a ship I was stationed on back in the day, the USS Polaris-- of course, I was there a good ten years before he even got into the Academy. But he spent quite a few years there as Executive Officer -- did quite a few humanitarian aid missions, rebuilt a fair few colonies. It's his first command, but he's proven himself rather impressively. He's currently the commander of a rather large task force tasked with rebuilding and controlling the situation within the Citadel Sectors."

“The Citadel Sectors, eh?? Well, I guess we’ll see what the Captain wants with us once we speak to him. I’d like you to join with me, Commander. See what the good Captain has to say.�

Arkham smirked -- Lane was clearly getting to know the old officer rather well; information was her business, and she would never turn down the opportunity to acquire more of it. "Of course, Commander. If that's where you need me to be."

As the doors hissed open onto the Bridge, both Arkham and Lane quickly headed over to the Ready Room and disappeared behind the shutted doors. Allowing for the Lieutenant Commander to take his chair, Commander Lane swivelled the console on the surface of his desk so that, as he stood beside her, both he and Arkham could see the image of Sheppard bleep onto the screen.

“Captain Sheppard… I’m Commander Lane of the Archimedes and this is my First Officer, Lieutenant Commander Arkham. How can I assist you??�

The image of Sheppard gave a broad smile, "Sorry to bother you so soon into your Command, but I've got a bit of a dilemma, and I was hoping you could help me solve it."

Lane turned to Arkham, and winced a smile. “I’m listening, Captain.�

"I don't know if you’re aware of Citadel Sectors Conflict. I'll send the details to you, but basically the area is on the brink of civil war. I've been tasked to bring peace to the region and prepare them for Federation membership. Command has given me whatever resources I need, and well, I need you and your crew, Commander." Jonas smiled, "It would be a hell of way to get your ship noticed."

Notoriety had never concerned the Commander. However, to be part of something great and to be in the thick of the action when the Citadel Task Force would carve out a place in history, thrilled the Trill more than he would care to admit.

Turning to his First Officer, he nodded. Then, fixing his eyes onto the image of Captain Sheppard, he continued.

“Add us to the list, Captain,� he said with a smile. “You can count on the Arch and her crew. However, I would appreciate any data you have on this so that we can prep our crew en-route. What is it, specifically, do you need us for??�

Jonas smiled, knowing that he the Archimedes would be joining the team. "I'll need you to take command of the Citadel Prime command and control center, provide resources to the marine and Starfleet personnel on planet as well has provide system defense." Jonas punched a few buttons on his console, "I'm transmitting a secure folder to you now. It contains the Task Force mission profile as well as some of my logs."

“Excellent, Captain,� the Trill remarked. “I’ll review this information with Commander Arkham and then present it to the Senior Staff once we are underway. Shall we meet you at Citadel Prime or en-route??�

"We'll meet when we get back to Citadel Prime. I've got a Chief Warrant Officer there running the CIC we set up. You can liaise with her when you arrive." Jonas leaned forward, "She will understand you have command and control of the sector and the mission."

“I got it, Captain.�

Jonas smiled, "Very good. We're settled then. I'll take care of the authorizations from Command, you should receive officials orders in the next hour or so."

“Understood. We’ll get underway to make time and organise the details along the way.� Straightening up, he smiled. “I’ll be in contact once we receive word from Command. Lane out.�

As the face of Captain disappeared and was replaced by the UFP emblem, Commander Lane exhaled. Turning to his First Officer he smiled and raised an expectant eyebrow.

“I guess the fun begins here, Ms Arkham,� he said pushing the console away from them on the desk. “Commander, let’s get going with this. It looks like we’re taking the Arch out for a little spin, doesn’t it?? Once we’ve cleared Space-dock, could you organise the Senior Staff in the Briefing Room??�

Arkham nodded and rose from the chair.

“Now, let’s get on the Bridge where we belong and get this ‘show on the road.’

He swiftly tapped the control panel on the desk and the intercom sounded throughout the entire bridge.

=A= All hands, this is the Captain. Secure all stations for departure and clear all moorings. We’re heading out.�
