ON:

Maria Traho had spent the morning using up her friend Lucy's holodeck rations, first lying on a beach being waited on by almost naked holographic young men then at a health spa, where she ensured the holographic beautician filed and painted her long nails to perfect oval shapes.

Then she was bored again. Where was the sport on this ship, she wondered. In the mess hall she managed a coffee from the replicator rations of another young crewman, eager to sit opposite her long dark hair, brown eyes and tales of pity. Finally it was time, she decided, for some fun.

She entered sick bay, unannounced, and walked right up to the doctor, smile on her face and looking at him through her dark eyelashes.

"Good afternoon, Doctor. It is always so nice to see such a skilled physician at work."

Mabren looked up at the person with the perky little voice that showed up out of nowhere. Sickbay had become Times Square; all sorts of people were coming and going. A slight smile came to his face, "Hi there. Can I help you?"

"Captain Lane told me to report here to sick bay to start my new job as a nurse. Where do you want me?" Maria flicked out her long, dark hair by shaking her head, briefly and smiling coquettishly at him. Lies so easily tripped off her tongue.

"Ah," Mabren stated, remembering her face now. He was briefly told about this little... arrangement. "As of right now, all I have for you to do is some inventory of our surplus supplies."

Maria smiled a disappointed little smile at him and took a careful step nearer. She always wore her jacket zipped a little lower than necessary and this time was no exception.

Her red lips parted a fraction and she inhaled slightly before saying "is that all, doctor? I think you will find I am much more capable than that." She looked up at him and blinked for emphasis.

Mabren’s face softened a little as he held her wicked face in his eyes. It was strange, he thought to himself as he found the corners of his mouth curl up into a schoolboy’s grin. He knew that the wiles of this woman were purely displayed for her own ends, and that he was one of thousands, probably, who had been taken in by that seductive smile, and yet he couldn’t seem to help himself.

“What else did you have in mind, Ensign…?

Maria gave him another look up through her eyelashes and said, very softly "I am very good at looking after people. I think a nurse, working along side one of the greats like you, would be such an amazing experience for me." She finished the sentence with a sweet smile, pursing her lips slightly at the end of it and touched him fleetingly on the arm.

The Doctor, as professional as he could, smiled back. “I’ll take that into account, Ensign, he replied. “And as soon as I have a patient worthy of your attention that is. He turned away from her, and continued to smile, more to himself than Maria. “But, inventory has to be completed... I could help you with it. Show you where things are.

Maria composed herself and said in a warm voice "yes, of course, Doctor. Anything you say."

Mabren smiled, pointed to the storage compartment and raised his eyebrow. “After you.
