Excerpt from "Back At The Watch House (part 1)".

"Mr. Blake, do think it would be an insult if I asked if one of your OPS personnel could do a coffee run, I have a newborn and admit I could use one to keep up with this exciting pace."

The newly promoted Commander Blake forcibly bit his tongue at Keen's cheeky request momentarily uncertain if he was joking or otherwise. "I'm sure they could be persuaded," he grimaced.

And now the continuation...


"Captain," Miral said, her voice hesitant. "I just lost one of the away team."

Keen's first reaction would be to question and have them confirm the loss about he knew that the process of verifying them before reporting the loss of a member of the away team. This is supposed to be an easy mission; and like so many others in his past, the easy mission just became less so.

"Which member of the Team is missing?" Keen asked and his worst fear was verified when Miral told him it was the Captain. "Keep hailing her and gt me the X-O on the comm." He turned to the science console. "Get me a full spectrum scan of that area and see if we can get the Captain's bio-signature."

Suddenly the jest of the caffeine boost died with the news development. The Captain was missing despite their best efforts to keep them under close surveillance, this was something they'd all dreaded. Immediately Blake turned to the communications and attempted to contact the senior staff.

Pulling her attention from the papers she was reading, or at least translating, Cattmor tapped her com-badge to respond to the incoming call from the ship. "Cattmor, go."

"Ranger, Keen here, are you near the Captain, we just lost her bio sign on our tracking and she is not showing up." He reported. "Can you confirm if it is technical difficulties that made her vanish?"

"Stand-by." was the only, clipped response Morai got back from the surface and the X-O.

"Security, I think you might want to start that contingency plan for losing a Commanding Officer." He said to Morgana. "I have the Xo can you confirm with the ground Security the Captain's whereabouts?"

"Contingency Plan?" Morgana said softly as she tapped on the console. "The only contingency plan there is for losing a commanding officer to begin writing your resignation, but that is just an old opinion, Sir." She said in her British accent. "I'll try to reach Captain ch'-" She paused, shaking her head as she released a slight sigh. "I mean, Lieutenant Commander ch'Valri and see if he can confirm."

"Um, Commander Keen," Miral said quietly. "Now everyone but Commander Cattmor and Mr. Addy are missing."

Shortly after, the voice of the X-O came over the coms once again, "Ranger, Mister Addy reports that the captain and the rest of the away team have entered an elevator. It can only go down I guess, but beyond that there's nothing more to go on unless we get down there ourselves. Just get and keep a signal lock, even just Addy and me, any way you can, because we're joining them. Cattmor out."

"=^= Commander Cattmor...=^= Keen hit the comm button. =^= Senors cannot pick up their signals and Sensors penetrate far better than a Comm Badge." Keen said almost loudly. "We cannot assure you will have signal, let us use a transporter booster with adapted to boost a comm signal give us a couple of minutes. send it down and maybe catch signals of the Captain?"

"I'd make it quick, commander, I'm pressing the button. Do whatever you have to, to get and maintain that signal lock. With any luck we'll get back to you shortly, otherwise... do what you can; I don't want to risk any more people down here than we already seemingly have."

=^= You are putting yourself and your escort in danger." Keen said calmly. "You do realize this will reflect on you if you follow these actions? I will be forced to act upon the situation accordingly; I advise waiting for the booster and not to go into unnecessary danger."

"This planet's dead, commander, there's no foreseeable danger here." Rylie responded. "Just get those boosters, or transceivers, or whatever down here now; we'll take care of the rest."

=^= It is being done and will be there in a few moments Commander. Just some simple modifications. =^= Keen explained. =^= Best to be on the side of caution. =^=

"Agreed, thank you, commander." Rylie responded. "Just keep the ship in one piece. Cattmor out." she said before tapping her com-badge again to close the channel.
