Mission: What Dreams May Come
Location: Decks 6 & 9

ON

Keen was not having a good time of this as he had to rack his brain as to how he could get to his Kitten, she had dropped her badge and he found it cast aside and she was not wearing anything to be trackable. He kept trying to think of a way to get to her and with the interior sensors well over taxed from the scans from science trying to get some kind of a way to find her?

He felt a weight on his side; something tugging at him, he reached down to take the Medical Tricorder from his waist and flipped it open. He had to hit himself for not thinking of something so simple, he could have an easier time if he had used this earlier. He had Kitten's scans in the Tricorder so he could just used the probe and get a fix on her.

She was on Deck 9, what was she doing on that deck? He started to the nearest turbo Lift to get himself to her deck.

[Deck 9]

Adriana stepped out of the turblift.  She checked carefully at each junction, started at every sound, came close to bolting back the way she'd come at least once.  But she made her way as quickly and quietly as she could in her current condition.  She wished she could have used the Jeffry's tubes; if she were her normal self, no one could catch her in the tubes.  But now she was barely able to get IN the tubes, much less move while she was in there, and she certainly couldn't escape through them.

But she finally got to her destination.  The armory.  Once she got into the weapons locker and got herself a phaser, something better than the dinky little Type I that was back in her quarters, she'd be able to defend herself, defend Little One.  No one could be allowed to hurt Little One.

Keen had to put some filters upon the Tricorder but he had the general fix; his Tricorder is tuned to Kitten; had been since before they were trying to have Little One; it was the best way for him to find her; he sent off for the nearest Turbo Lift and headed to Deck 9

Adriana had to use her security access code to get into the weapons locker, but since she was a member of the crew with no issues on her record, she had access.  She took a Type II phaser and turned the stun setting up to max.  She didn't set it to kill, just in case of an accident, but at Max Stun it would put Brex down for the count.  And then she could call Security and they could arrest him.  Then they would have to believe her that he was here, and Morai would have to admit that she was right.

As she left the armory, she thought she heard footsteps approaching and she hurried around the corner as fast as she could.  Now that she was armed, she had to think of where to go that she could defend.

Keen was tracking her, she had gotten to the Armory; that could not be good as kitten was not really crazy about phasers and weapons, she actually hated them, she had to be scared as he rushed towards her, now he was running as he would not leave his family defenseless or Kitten at the mercy of that man again. It happened once and that is enough for him to make damn sure he arrived well ahead of Brex.

The pursuing steps were getting closer and Adriana hurried as fast as she could.  There was a turbolift just ahead again.  If she could get there first she could take it to another deck.  She wracked her brain for a place that would conceal her.  There was a junction down in the bowels of the ship that had the most 'background noise' on the ship to fuddle the ship's sensors, but she couldn't get there right now; she'd have to crawl too far and she just couldn't.  Perhaps the science labs?  She nodded.  Yes, the science labs.  That would be the place....

"Kitten!..." Keen said as he came around the corner from the Turbo Lift. "It is me." He assured while closing the gap to offer her a hug and his protection.

Adriana whirled around, lifting her weapon, aiming right for those cold blue eyes- the ones that had gleamed so hatefully while she'd been whipped.  "Stay back.  You stay away from us," she said, still moving backwards towards the turbolift.

Keen stopped dead in his tracks; this was his Kitten, he had to think of this for a second, he shook his head and took a step closer to her "Kitten, it's me, you know who I am?" He felt like he was slightly pleading. "I mean you cannot really mean that?" He felt his heart starting to be very out of whack.

Heart pounding, Adriana fired a warning shot up above his head.  "I mean it.  You aren't going to get us, do you hear me?."  She got to the turbolift and stepped inside, still aiming right at Brex.  "Come after us again, and I will shoot you.  I'll never let you lay a finger on my child," she said, sounding as deadly and serious as she ever had about anything in her life.

Keen stood there and did not say a word, he nodded slowly; almost numbly, while he watched the doors shut he could only stand there in... he did not know how to describe it? The look on her face when she said the words; the look in the storming sky that was her blue eyes he had once compared to a sunny day were dark nearly as night it seamed, the storms raging behind them put the stones back around his heart like an avalanche. His mind told him one thing; that it would happen; that the Prophets did forsake people on whimsical times, or those times when it was most important, crutial to their survival or when they could be from the highest places plunged into utter darkness.

His heart; the Stone Vedek as he was well known by on Bajor, he had hardened the heart for a reason; it was protection as the Prophets allowed so many to die in front of him ; he was saved for last, and now the one thing that had saved him from that hell just threatened to shoot him if he came close. The one person that saw past the Stone Vedek; had hated him and torn the rock away just pointed a Phaser and threatened him.

The door to the turbolift slid shut and Adriana almost collapsed against the wall in relief.  "Deck 6," she requested breathlessly.

Looking dumbfounded at the Tricorder he saw her signal getting away from him, three decks away, the distance was counted in meters yet it felt farther, he had nothing left as the universe had shattered again; not even Love could save the Stone Vedek. He scanned the corridors where his ... Adriana moved away from him. She wanted to be alone; she wanted the Little One more than anyone; pestering the Medical staff for pregnacy checks and still she went without a child for so long that even Keen thought it might not happen? But then, what did he care now? The Prophets had again turned their backs on him; he turned away and walked in the opposite direction, he would not risk being shot...

Adriana sort-of-ran to the science labs.  She'd left Brex behind on Deck 9 and even if he managed to track her he couldn't get ahead of her- he had no way of knowing where she was going.  She wondered if the force fields in the science labs would allow her to seal off one of the labs with her inside.  That would be safe.  Brex could never get to her through a force field.

Then she and Little One would finally be safe.  And once they caught Brex, then Morai would have to believe her, would have to admit that she wasn't crazy.
