Mission:
In The Dark
Location: Main Deflector Control
Timeline: Current
ON:
The doors to the turbolift breathed open on Deck Six as the soft glow spilled outwards and bathed the carpet in its light. The darkened figure leant out of the pod, arching their back for a full view down the long, narrow passageway, before heavily stepping out, planting their boots out before them. The hiss of the closing doors behind them, and the whirring of the pod as it was propelled to another deck, was the only sound that flooded the empty hallway. Their labored breathing was controlled but rasping, crackling with spittle filling the mouth.
The individual made their way down the darkened corridor and took a left. Tapping at the panel on the door in a structured and familiar pattern, their fingers trembled with anxious fear. The tonal beep of a successful security code sounded as it shushed open and sealed them inside. Main Deflector Control.
The shadow padded over to a secured bulkhead on the side of the room, and tore it from its hinges. As it clattered about his feet, the blue ionized glow from the panel hidden inside, washed their face in a hushed glow.
Taking out an unfamiliar instrument, they began to work…
Directing a subspace comm. signal to predetermined coordinates, they opened a secured channel.
"Agent 0614 reporting in, Handler."
"Report, 0614," the husk of a voice responded, accompanied by intermittent white, background noise.
"The package is onboard but not yet installed. Phase One is complete. Phase Two is underway."
"Confirmed, Agent. You've done well. Keep out of sight and on guard."
"Acknowledged, Hander. 0614 out."
