Mission: Landreah
Location: Eye of Ra

ON:

In the Delta Flyer Shuttle, Eye of Ra, the team had just gotten finished and were headed for some well needed R & R. The second in command of the team, Morgana DeViro, sat in her usual spot in the back. Her eyes were focused on a book as she could hear the chirping of the rest of the team, minus their Captain Orin, in the background.

“Finally.” Jack Addy, otherwise known as Crow to the team, said as he leaned back in his chair letting out a relieved sigh. “Babe, the moment we hit DS9, it’s straight to the Holosuites. Me. You. And a hot tube in the middle of a deserted island with no one around. We are going to get buck… wild. He let out a laugh and looked over to her.

“Crow. If that’s your only plan, you’re going to find yourself all alone on that island.” Morgana looked over to him from her book and spoke in a British accent. The dark hair woman than looked back to her page. “I hope you and your ego have a wonderful time together.”

“Oh we will. We will.” Crow narrowed his eyes towards her, than let out a laugh. He knew she was joking. At least, he hoped she was joking. Just as he was about to open his mouth he heard the familiar tone of a communication coming through to them. “Hold that thought, Love. We got incoming.” He tapped the console and spoke, trying to sound as professional as possible. “Go for Ra’s Roughnecks.” A blurb of text appeared on the screen. Crow motioned for Morgana to come over so she could take a look at it and verify whatever codes that needed to be verified.

She placed the PaDD down on the seat as she got up. Morgana swayed her way to the console and leaned over her husband Jack’s shoulder to read the message. She found herself mouthing the words, than stopping in mid-sentence with a sigh.

“I don’t like that sigh. I hate it when you sigh. That sigh is bad. Why the bad sigh?” Jack asked as he looked up towards her. “

“You’re not going to like it.” Morgana replied softly.

“What makes you say that?” Crow responded, as he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back further in the chair.

“Because I don’t like it.” She shot back, looking over to him as she straightened back up. “And worse. Orin isn’t going to like it.”

Crow looked over to John, who was sitting on the ground with his back against the wall. John, known as Disaster-piece, was in the middle of cleaning his phaser rifle when he heard the conversation. He paused, slightly, to hear it and overhead how the message was something the Captain wouldn’t like. John looked over to them and replied in a firm and deep voice. “That’s never good. So you going to tell us or are we all going to keep commenting about how bad it is?”

“I don’t know. I kind of like this whole not knowing thing. That way I can still pretend not to care without all that pesky knowing thing. You know?” Crow replied quickly, adding a bit of a smile as he spoke.

John shook his head slightly, laughed a bit to himself as he let out a sigh. “Sometimes, I don’t think you don’t even know what you’re talking about.”

“Only on those special occasions.” Crow added as he let out a smirk and let out a sigh, looking back to Morgana with a raised brow. “So?”

“We are being transferred.” She replied in her soft British tone as she looked over to Crow, keeping a stern and cold face.

“What’s wrong about that? We get transferred all the time. We’re used to it by now.” John said as he let out a laugh and smiled.

Morgana placed her hands on her hips and let out a sigh. “To a starship, to be turned into their new security team.”

“Wait.” Crow took a moment to compose her thoughts before continuing. “We’re Marines. We got certified for Security and Intel in order to be of more use when needed. Not to take over that department.”

“I know, Jack. These are our orders. And we follow orders.” Morgana crossed her arms and walked toward the door leading to Orin’s office. She pressed the chime on the side of the door and awaited She didn’t want to have this conversation, but it was one that needed to be had. She finally heard the Captain’s voice come from inside the room.

“Come in, Morgana.” Captain ch’Valri’s voice came from the other side of the door.

“It’s scary how he can figure that out without the door being opened.” Crow said softly as he laughed a bit. “I used to think it was because he watched us with the internal sensors, but I checked. They aren’t being used to anything close to that.”

“It’s because I am the only one crazy enough to bother him when there is bad news. The rest of you are too chicken to do it.” Morgana said as the doors opened and all she saw on the other side was complete darkness. She walked in as her figure seemed to be consumed by the darkness as the doors closed behind her.

Crow looked over to John then laughed softly. “That’s why she is the second in command. Far be it for us to keep her from her duty.” He gave a wink and looked over to Garry, the pilot known as Hotrod, and gestured to him. “DS9, G-Man. And Step on it.”
