Captain's Personal Log, Stardate: 63857

Commander Arkham is currently preparing to return to the Archimedes with her… guest: Alexandra Harwood. A Captain by rank, and yet, her underlying authority is not Fleet assigned - or at least Fleet-acknowledged. She is to come aboard as the Archimedes' Mission Advisor, ordered by faceless Admirals somewhere beyond the realm where even I am not permitted to pass. Her official stance and interest in this position, and my crew, is not yet known to me. What is, however, is her personal, and dare I imagine, professional history with my first officer. Lieutenant Commander Kemmer is attempting to ascertain any facts on her affiliation and person as I record this. [Computer, delete that last sentence and remove from the log.]

Intelligence: As grey and steely as the uniforms they don. So far, Harwood's façade of credentials appear to be legitimate, and short of contesting their validity with Command itself, I have little to work with other than the trust of one Rowena Arkham. If I had have known that commissioning a weathered Intelligence officer to be my number one would conclude with such underhandedness, then I would have thought twice on the option. However, she has, to date, served both me and the Fleet remarkably, and I am not about to give up on the hope that both the Commander and I, and this exemplary crew, will button together and sail clear the other side of this mission. Hope is all I have.

For the moment, the strange feeling I was experiencing onboard this ship has subsided for me. However, I worry that I have merely replaced the anguish with that of a bigger threat. I have Lieutenant Larkin and the Doctor working on dissecting and diagnosing the malfunction with the bio-neural gel packs. Whatever the result, I hope that they bring me good news of the issue.

All I can do now is sit and wait for my Executive Officer to return… and hope that whom ever she returns with isn't a wolf in sheep's clothing.

End Log.
