Mission: Sowing the Seeds
Timeline: Shortly After "Boom"

ON:

Adriana burst into the temporary first aid and medical station that had been established for the people wounded in sickbay. It was a small place with too many people.

"Morai!" she hollered over the sounds of the injured and treatments. She didn't care if she was disturbing anyone or getting in the way as she pushed through. She needed to find her husband. Because if he wasn't here, then that meant the Computer couldn't find his vital signs. "Morai!"

Keen was literally knee deep in the wounded; his skills as an Emergency Medical technician had improved over the years and he was a fairly good medic aside from his counselor calling.

He was sweating on his back still; it was annoying to say the least as he did not want people thinking he was nervous. He heard his name, no one called him by that name on this ship. He looked up from the patent and around to see Kitten.

"Adriana?" He said as he completed the sealing of a gash on an engineer. "W-what are you doing here. He kind of staggered a bit as he was getting tired. "Shouldn't you be in the Damage... control." he felt the pricky pin points of his back as he sweated he would really need a shower after all this.

Adriana heard her name and ran towards it. Seeing her husband standing there looking bewildered made a wave of pure relief wash through her and she threw her arms around him frantically. "Thank God you're alright," she sighed and held onto him as if she were afraid he'd disappear. "Your office, it was a wreck, and I found your commbadge but you weren't there," she rambled as she held him.

"I lost my..." He felt that is not there. "You should have been there when it happened, I had a patient in with me and so she was hurt... I brought her here and knew they needed more of a medical man than a counselor

As she loosened her grip to look up at him she noticed that his shirt felt tacky, a bit sticky almost, and the feeling lingered on her fingers. She made a face at the feeling and she pulled her hands back to look at them.

They were red. She had blood on her hands. She screamed a little. "Keen Cat!"

"What happened, Adriana?" He saw the blood on her hands. "The baby could be affected if you are bleeding?" He seemed concerned. "Get you to a biobed and check you out..."

"It's not mine. Turn around!" she said and grabbed his arm to yank him in a circle. "You're covered in blood," she gasped in horror. "Are you hurt?" she reached to his shirt and pulled it up so she could see his back.

The back of his shirt was wet from the six gashes in his back that were slowly trickling blood, the wounds were a light but steady trickle, not enough to be much more than annoying.. "I did not think so, but I-I felt a sweaty back..."

"Morai, you're bleeding," Adriana said, her voice thick with tears. "How did no one notice this?" she asked angrilly as tears spilled free and she pulled him towards someone else administering to the wounded.

"You," she snapped. "My husband is hurt, his back, how could you let him treat people when he's hurt himself?"

"I-I didn't think..." The woman stammered. "He was leading the triage and just giving instructions as though he knew what he was doing..."

"Adriana, it is not her fault, I am the one that is in charge to an extent."

"You can't help other people if you don't take some care of yourself," Adriana said as she started to cry more and pushed him down to sit on a cot. She wasn't taking any argument from him; he WOULD be treated and she would see it happen.

"I'll get a dermal regenerator unit to seal the wounds." The woman snatched a tool from her tray and moved to his back.

Adriana pulled her husband's shirt off over his head gently, not wanting to hurt his back any more than it had been hurt already. She wiped the blood from her hands on the ruined shirt and tossed it away, turning his face up to look at hers. Tears still leaked slowly from her eyes. "Didn't you feel it when you were hurt?" she asked shakily as the nurse worked on his back.

"I felt a dull pain but I thought it was from being hit by furniture or something... I woke to a dull pain but that did not seem serious, I could move and all." He explained as the nurse started to patch him. "I was more worried about... I can't remember her name..."

She brushed the hair out of his eyes and leaned her forehead against his. "You scared me half to death," she whispered.

"Sorry, Love." He replied as his back was feeling better. "I really did not know I lost my badge, just thought it was ... quiet." He said. "I-I didn't call did I?"

"No. No you didn't. And I responded with the rest of clean-up crew and your office was half destroyed, and I couldn't find you. I didn't know if you were in there when it blew, or if you'd just left your jacket when you stepped out for an iced tea, or what." She wrapped her arms around his neck, above the wounds on his back, and pulled his head to her shoulder. Her emotions were running this way and that, one minute relieved he was alright, the next terrified that something worse than they knew had happened, then upset because he had let her worry about him, then just glad she'd found him. And every one of those emotions had the tears running still.

"I will keep better tabs, Love." He said as it was always better to be close to his Kitten. "Purr purr purr." He said softly, the humor things might help about now?

Adriana buried her face in his hair and waited for her racing heart to slow and her tears to stop. She reminded herself that he hadn't meant to worry her, and that a good thrid of her emotional swinging right now was due to being pregnant and having her hormones raging all over the place.

When she had control of herself again she gave him a smile and turned to the nurse. "He's alright now, isn't he? Just the surface wounds, no internal damage or anything?"

"There is some scr tissue under his skin that has torn open but nothing that will hindeer him until we get the Sick Bay repaired or refit." the nurse said and turned the tricorder to Adriana. "You are healthy and your husband should take it easy as he has a minor concussion but as he out ranks me I am not pushing it."

"I will... if I can get a scrubs or another shirt. I believe my wife has exclusive gawking and leering rights of me without a shirt." He smiled. "Could you, Love? You know the replicators better than anyone."

Adriana winked at him. "I was going to enjoy the show a little longer, but if you're feeling shy," she teased and replicated him a new shirt, not a uniform one which might feel a little tight over the newly healed skin, but something a little looser and softer. She helped him pull it on and gave him a quick, affectionate peck on the lips. "We'll just consider this a sneak peek of what I can see tonight after I get home," she whispered in his ear.

"Can we do the I'll wash your back if you wash mine?" He smiled and reached for her right ear with the ear ring. "Be well, My beloved..." He had almost said 'Kitten' but caught himself.

She leaned into the touch to her ear; it felt like it had been a long time since he'd shown her this Bajoran sign of affection. "I will. You take care, too; I'll see you tonight, my Husband," she said softly before she had to go back to work.

"By Both of you." He winked as she left.
