In The Dark
Location: Deck One, Bridge
Timeline: Day One: 10:00hrs

Jack was at the helm after having orders to go to Citadel Prime. It only took 3 days and now they were there. He turned round to the command station, "Captain, we are approaching Citadel Prime".
Understood, Mr. Parsons. Take us out of warp, Lane replied, looking at the view-screen before them all.
As the Lieutenant lightly tapped at his control panel on the conn, the marvellous blue marble hung in space from its invisible string, raced into the foreground surrounded by streaks of starlight. And, as the long darts of stars faded and returned to their normal shimmering, pin-pricked shape, the small Nova Class vessel slowly glided toward her, massively dwarfed in its company.
Mr. Parsons, take us into standard orbit, if you would.
"Aye sir", he said, as his hands danced around the console. "We are in standard orbit sir".
"Thank you, Lieutenant." Turning to his First Officer sat beside him, he said, Well, here we are, Commander. Citadel Prime; home to the Citadel Tower where these peace negations are taking place.
He looked out toward the planet drawing slowly closer and closer. It looks beautiful, does it not?
Arkham nodded, folding her arms across her chest and leaning back to take in the spectacle. It certainly put an interesting perspective on things, to see the Citadel this way. Breathlessly, Arkham rasped, "Indeed, sir. Indeed it does."
Standing up from his chair, the Trill turned around to his Chief of Operations and smiled. Mr. Jackson, establish a communications link with the Nagasakis CIC on the surface and inform their Diplomatic party that we have arrived.
"Aye sir" Sam merely quietly set about doing that.
Then, turning toward Commander Arkham, he continued. Ms. Arkham, I would like you to head on down to greet Mr. Hughes and his party. With the reports of transporter malfunctions with the Nagasaki, I would like Mr. Parsons to take you down in a shuttle. No point in tempting fate just yet. He fractured into a slight smile in an attempt to convey the seriousness of what could happen, and to also pay a nod of respect to the officers lost so far with their sister ship.
Assemble your away-team and get down to the shuttlebay, Commander. Once youre planet-side, get the lay of the land with everything so far and then report back. We can decide where to go from there.
Arkham nodded. "I'm not going to need much of a team, Commander -- I've never traveled with one, and I don't intend to do so in the future; with your permission, I'll take the Chief of Security as a bodyguard, and the Chief Counselor -- if she went to Starfleet Medical, chances are she was cross trained as a doctor."
Of course, Commander. And the added bonus with Carter is that with her Psychological training, she may be an asset to your team if negotiations get underway and Starfleet needs to step in again. Im sure the Nagasakis Chief Diplomatic Officer, Mr. Hughes, will find her disarming enough, no matter how arrogant he appears to be through your grapevine."
"Oh, that sir, is quite debatable," Arkham said, smirking. "I had the...distinct pleasure of meeting him only once. And believe me, his ego makes mine look rather tame and small in comparison. Let's hope you're correct and that he's more of a sucker for a pretty young officer with psychological training than I think he is."
Lets hope, Commander. Lets hope indeed, Lane uttered, thinking more to himself than speaking out aloud. We at least need things to run smoothly on our side of the fence before we can expect the Citadel races to unite in the name of peace and the Federation.
Arkham nodded. "Oh, I'm sure we'll all come to a sense of agreement, I'm just saying that I don't expect it to be easy. Not in the least."
Lane agreed. I hope that is the case, Commander. We have to give credit where its due. If the team has already temporarily united the Council then they must be worth their salt.
Arkham smirked a little, skeptical of the notion of credit where credit was due. "Of course, sir. I'll go prepare my team to go down to the surface."
