Lieutenant Reynaldi entered Engineering, which was now filled with smoke. He'd just come back from the QAR vessel and was rather glad to be alive. He was not happy about the job he had to do, though.

"Report!" He said in his usual booming voice as he approached his console.

"The Port Nacelle is gone, sir," his Orion assistant said.

He looked at the console himself, frowning as the light reflected from his graying hair. "Gone?"

"Yes, Sir. When the QAR vessel exploded it took the nacelle with it. We are without warp power, Sir," she replied with a worried look on her face.

Alex walked around the console and into the center of Main Engineering. He watched as crew walked by him. "Modify the deflector and the starboard nacelle to sustain Warp speed alone."

"At best, they could only produce two bubble layers.." Karra responded.

"Warp two is better than nothing, Lieutenant," Alex said walking over to another console, shoving a junior officer out of the way. I'm opening the plasma injectors in the starboard nacelle 40%. They'll be doing the work it would take to achieve Warp 7 with both nacelles functional. Modify the deflector to disperse the warp bubble evenly across the entire ship... We don't want our port side trapped in normal space."

The Olive skinned Orion went to work on her console, modifying the deflector. "Done.."

Alex checked her work and then tapped his comm badge. =A= Engineering to Bridge. We have modified deflector dispersal geometry and opened plasma injectors in the starboard nacelle. By my calculations, we can achieve Warp 2 by going to Warp 7. I'll have a report on your desk within the hour, Captain. Reynaldi out. =A=
