Mission: Citadel Prime
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current

ON:

Commander Lane stretched his left leg under his Ready Room desk as the dull ache compounded by his hip. I need to get out a little, he thought.

Raising to his feet, he arched his back to crack the base of his spine and then delighted in the relief it offered him. Strolling over to the doors, they swished open at his presence and the site of his Bridge officers criss-crossing across it, pleased him. The bustle of activity was somehow calming to the Trill.

Turning around and noticing Lieutenant Parsons sat at the lone conn-console at the front of the Bridge, streams of light-speed stars racing before him, the Commander cleared his throat. Stepping up behind him, he looked over his shoulder and said, “How is she coming along, Mr. Parsons? She running as smooth as she should?

Jack's head turned slightly and replied, "She's going well sir, but the engines are a little sluggish", he paused then continued, "but she's still going which is good news".

“Sluggish, eh? he asked, raising his hand to his chin to think. “And there was Chief Sheedy complaining that everything worked, he smiled. “I guess that she’s got something to occupy her now, doesn’t she?

The Trill looked out through the main view-screen and as the strips of light zipped past, he looked back onto his Chief Helmsman. “So, Mr. Parsons, how’s your shuttle flight skills? he asked. “Once we get to Citadel Prime, we’ll need to head on down to the surface in shuttles. The USS Nagasaki has experienced some disconcerting problems with their transporters when in use, resulting in the loss of one of their crew. Now, it is still undetermined as to what caused the malfunction, but I don’t want to take any chances.

"They're as good as they can get sir", Jack replied with a smile, for both his shuttle skills and the mission ahead.

“Great, I’ll expect you to assemble your team of pilots and provide cover up here while you’re occupied. Glancing back up to the emptiness of space before him, he continued. “And how long will it be before we arrive at Citadel Prime, Lieutenant?

"I will get to my officers for a meeting to sort out. How many pilots do you want", he asked, before replying to his question, "We shall be crossing the border to Citadel prime, shortly, Captain".

“Good, Mr. Parsons, he replied. “Once we arrive at the planet, we can talk about the logistics of the transports then. I’ll head on down to Engineering shortly to see what the Chief can tell me about the engines.

The Commander turned to leave the CFCO at his post but then whisked his head around to continue speaking. “Lieutenant, inform myself and Lieutenant Commander Arkham once we cross the border, if you would. Thank you.
