After leaving the counselor's office and entering the turbolift, Jack stepped out and walked along the corridor towards the sickbay to see the Doctor. Before he went in, he looked at himself and smiled again, I'm healthy , he said in his head, as he walked into sickbay.
As the doors swished open, Mabren couldn't help but smile, the crew was nothing if not punctual. He remembered how much the medical staff on the Zhukov had to fight twist pull and wrangle people to get them into sickbay for their physicals. One member from the US described it as 'a roundup.'
Gesturing to the empty biobed beside him, Mabren said, "Have a seat, Lieutenant."
Jack smiled to him and sat down at the allocated biobed.
Bringing out his tricorder from his smock's right pocket, Mabren began to scan the the flight officer. "This will be over shortly," Mabren said, not enjoying the silence. After the scan was complete, Mabren moved over to the console to compare the readings.
After the computer accessed the readings on the tricorder, Mabren saw that everything was within norms and looked back at the officer, "Well Lieutenant, you seem to be making my job easier. Your just fine."
Jack smiled and was about to get up when he walked back.
Walking back over, Mabren said, "I noticed in your record that you have a scar, ever thought of getting rid of it?"
"My scar, thats a bit like a errm", he pauses for time to think what to say, "a...memorandum, sounvenir, something to remind you of the past. This one is from my first camping trip". He smiled as he thought back to it, before returning to reality with the doctor.
Mabren nodded, "I see. Well, it is your choice. Have a pleasant day, Lieutenant, we're all done here."
"Thanks Doctor", Jack said as his feet landed on the ground and walked out of sickbay.
