As the small Nova Class vessel manoeuvred herself delicately into Mars’ orbit, Captain Lane gave the order to Lieutenant Warner to finish what he had ultimately started when he set sail for home.

Sector 001: The Sol Sector.

Lane, like his crew, inwardly smiled at the familiar sight of the planet and the Utopia Planetia Fleet Yards that rose into view from the horizon of the planet.

“USS Archimedes, you now have permission to dock in Drydock 035. Please proceed.�

Lane nodded to Warner as she slowly pulled in to the spider-like dock, coming to a subtle stop as the ship jolted and shook from the attachments lightly clutching the 8-decked vessel.

“All systems stop,� Lane ordered on the bridge as the gentle, ever present rumble dissipated beneath them.

“All hands, this is the Captain,� he announced over the internal comm., turning to Commander Arkham as she sat next to him. “Secure your stations and relieve them to the Fleet Yard staff when they board. You all have three weeks leave before you are due to report back to me. During this period, your time is your own. You may, should you wish, remain onboard but please check in with Petty Officer Andrews to receive the correct authorisation to do so.

“Crew... You’re dismissed!�
