Mission: Shoreleave - Welcoming Old Friends and New

After the greeting on the hanger deck, Yvette had stowed all of her belongings in her quarters and then down to sickbay to get the post transfer medical. It was one of the things that she hated, but she might as well get it out of the way.
She tugged at the uniform that was fitting her a little closer than she liked, but there again, the male officers that walked past seemed to appreciate it.
Her pace was slow and unhurried, given the fact she was working on a science ship what would be the point of her rushing around.

The decks were still pretty empty, and most of the crew that were present were Engineers that were running repairs on the power conduits and other ancillary systems.
Despite the fact that she wasn't rushing she arrived at sickbay in short time and bustled in as a small group of engineers left.

She cast her gaze around, her eyes searching for a medical officer however non seemed to be forth coming so she resorted to calling out.
"Excuse me. Is anyone here?"

"Here." came a voice from beyond the CMO's office. An older man stepped out into the office with several data PaDD's in hand. He set them down on the desk as he stepped out into the main Sick Bay.

"Can I help you?" he asked, stowing his hands into the pocket of his lab coat.

"Hello Doctor. I'm the new Chief Diplomatic Officer. I thought I would get my physical out of the way before I report for duty", her smile was warm and easy and it covered her surprise at the older gentleman's position and rank. It was unusual to find such a mature gentleman still in a Chief Medical Officers role and still only at the rank of Lieutenant. Still, she employed her skills with Diplomacy and covered any surprise with a welcoming expression.

"The rare voluntary physical." Fox replied, with a smile, gesturing to one of the smaller bio beds. "Have a seat, Lieutenant, and we'll get you squared away." he said, pulling out a tricorder from his pocket and flipping it open and taking the scanner node with a bit of a flourish.

"Anything I need be aware of?" he asked, waving the node over her slowly.

"I have a fondness for anything with chocolate in it... But nothing that has any medical consequence otherwise", once again the playful smile tugged at her lips brightening her features to the point were she appeared to radiate her own aura.

"Yes..." Fox replied, "Human female." he winked over the top of his tricorder, "A standard ailment." he added, snapping the device closed and stowing it in his pocket.

"If you don't mind, your records indicate its been a while since your last full scan. I'd like you to lie down on the larger bio and let me get a good full scan. Just in case." he smiled, holding his hand outwards towards the larger bed.

Yvette pulled away the top most part of her tunic and laid it next to herself on the bio bed before laying down next to it.
With an almost devilish smirk she added. "Its been a while since a gentleman asked to me to lie down on one of his beds".

Fox smirked back, "A perk of being a Doctor, even if I am too old for you." he grinned, winking as he hit the button that engaged the arch over her and covered her from view.

"So Doctor. You just arrived or you been here forever?" The question was intended to start a conversation so the medical exam didn't turn into an uncomfortable silence.

"Fresh on the boat." Fox replied, watching the scan carefully. "You?" he asked.

"Just arrived. Thought I would get the medical exam out of the way first."

"Well, you're one of the precious few that I don't have to chase down personally." he smiled, disengaging the bio scanner.

"Anything else I can take care of for you?" he asked.

"Nothing I can think of at the moment", now her tone turned dire and serious. "So Doc. Will I live?"

"You're a perfectly healthy young woman Miss LaFaal, so I don't see any reason why not." he smiled.

"Thanks Doctor", she hoped down from the biobed replacing his uniform tunic over the purple undershirt.

"Now I suppose I should go and find my office. A pleasure meeting you Doc"

"And you, Lieutenant. Feel free to come by with anything, my door is open." he smiled.
