Mission:
The Shining Truth
Location: Deck 2, Holodeck Suite 2
Timeline: current
Shalie didn't have far to travel to wind up at the hatch of the holodeck. The smile on her face was a dead give away of excitement for this morning's recreation. Since the first time she had met Drew O'Connell, and every day they had interacted since then, she had wanted to punch him in one way or another. From the cocky remarks to that pride of his, she just wanted to knock that cocky smile off his annoyingly attractive face. Today she got the chance...with no repercussions from Starfleet. She only had to keep in mind that her shoulder wasn't at 100%, but that most likely wouldn't stop her.
The hatch to the holodeck opened to reveal the boring holographic sensitive walls and the computer panels that controlled the holo-emitters. Either she had arrived first or Drew had forgotten their little meeting.
As if sensing her thoughts, Drew stepped into the open doorway behind her. With that self-satisfied smirk, he assured her, "I haven't forgotten our match, if that's what you were thinking." With a shrug, he finished the thought, "I was just a little delayed. Computer initiate program O'Connell twelve, level four."
In response to his request, a full gymnasium sprung up around them. The plastic cushioned mats on the floor replaced the feeling of hard holodeck surfacing, and on either side of a ring in the center sat a rack arrayed with various blunted weapons.
Shalie smoothly turned to face him. "Good to know...besides although the thought did cross my mind...you aren't the type to miss an opportunity to show me up," she said with a little grin.
Turning to his opponent, he nodded. "One on one or teams?"
"Oh..." Shalie said with a little laugh in her voice. "We are so doing this one on one..." Working with him was not what she had planned.
Drew broke into a full smile. "Choose your weapon then, Shalie. I'd like a few moments to warm up, work out the kinks and prepare to kick your ass."
Shalie rolled her eyes as she moved over towards the weapon station. She couldn't help but appreciatively watch him as he moved. She stretched out her shoulder as she walked with her pair of asps over to her side of the ring. She tried to calm herself enough to get a read off of him, but her emotions were too erratic.
Drew nodded and moved off to the distant side of the ring. Moving through the mok'Bara motions, he stretched his muscles and accelerated his heart rate. When he finished the motions, similar to those of Tai Chi on Earth, Drew knelt down and completed a few minutes of meditation. Klingon mok'Bara attended to both mind and body, preparing a warrior for battle and today was no different. Drew was going into battle; he could sense the eagerness in his opponent. He would draw from that eagerness; he would use it against her. His mind calmed and he recognized her crutch, her eagerness to fight him, and decided to use it against her.
Shalie watched Drew's motions and caught glimpses of his calm demeanor. She twirled her asps in her hands as she watched and waited. It had been so long since she had had the opportunity to spar with someone else. She took a deep breath and calmed herself as she watched Drew's body begin to move.
Standing from his position and rolling his head to loosen the last of his muscles, Drew motioned to the weapons platform as he chose the blunted mek'leth from the weapons offered. Stepping to the line, Drew watched Shalie's form move with brilliant grace, wrapped in tight exercise gear. No doubt, she had chosen it to distract him. It was working, he thought. "Shall we?" he asked, deadly serious as he tried to put the alluring outfit out of his mind.
Shalie flicked her wrist causing the last 6 inches of her asps to click into place. With one final spin, she gave Drew a coy smile. "Bring it on, O'Connell" She watched as the muscles in Drew's legs gave away his impending movement. Instinctively, her left arm raised and barely stopped the mek'leth from slamming into her. She pressed him away with a grunt and brought her right arm around, attempting to reach his core with her asp while keeping the mek'leth from making contact.
Drew sensed the movement of her right arm and countered her blow by tucking his abdomen in and stepping back. Her right hand, complete with weapon, missed his core by millimeters. His own step back caused him to have to readjust his center of gravity even as he grasped her right wrist and propelled her forward using her own momentum. Shalie spun in a half turn and brought her left hand with asp under complete control to bear on his left shoulder, completing the turn he had forced her into. Already in counter motion, Drew ducked to the mat and stabbed out with his left foot, catching Shalie in the abdomen even as her left leg caught him unaware, sweeping him from his crouched kick. He fell back to the mat hard, expelling the air from his lungs and sending his mek'leth skittering across the floor.
As Drew lay on the mat, unarmed and breathless, he watched as Shalie retreated momentarily to regain her own senses. Drawing in a deep breath, Drew recovered his weapon. "Match one ends in stalemate."
Shalie stood with her arms at the ready. Her tight grip on the asps loosened only long enough to make the comforting circular movements. She attempted to catch her breath as Drew moved to retrieve his weapon she tried to stretch out her shoulders and hips a bit before the next go. "Ready?" She asked figuring it was her turn to make the first move. With a nod of consent from Drew she moved quickly for him.
Shalie's first instinct was the occupy Drew's mek'leth which was easier said then done. Using the two asps almost like pry bars she trapped the blunted blade and attempted to twist the weapon from his grip. It wasn't the most conservative move but curiosity got the best of her. While her upper body was in motion her hips moved to change her center of gravity as she spun trying to use her hips almost as a fulcrum.
Drew watched as his Klingon sword skittered away. As Shalie changed her center of gravity, Drew used her momentum and swung her arms up over head as both bodies completed the half turn. Now back to back, their arms restrained over their heads, Drew struggled against her alien strength to bring her arms down to her sides. His shoulders strained with the effort, forcing the muscles themselves to nearly their breaking point. A bead of sweat rolled down his forehead into his right eye and the saltiness stung. They remained in that position, back to back, for what seemed like hours but was really probably seconds until Shalie was forced to drop her weapons.
When they broke the struggle, Drew couldn't help but feel relieved. He retrieved his weapon, she hers, before facing off again. Drew was about to strike until something caught his eye. Behind Shalie and just to her left was another figure. Drew instantly wondered if he had missed the arrival, but Shalie missing it too?
As Drew circled Shalie, his eyes suddenly diverted away from his opponent. In the corner she stood, like a ghost from his past. With flowing hair and an ethereal white dress flowing about her, Jasmine Chaudhary floated about a half meter off the floor. Her eyes were closed and she looked peaceful. Serene. Until her eyes opened. The brown, expressive, brilliant eyes were replaced by silver irises devoid of human emotion. She spoke and yet her mouth never opened. "Save me, Andrew."
Shalie moved in unaware of Drew's distraction. She easily hooked her asp under his left shoulder and with a smooth sweeping motion slammed him face down into the mat. She applied pressure to already sore shoulder and using her right hand she pressed down on the retracted shoulder. It didn't take long for Shalie to realize that this take down had been to easy. With a swift adjustment of her body tumbled Drew on to his back. Being the untrusting hybrid that she wasn't convince that it wasn't a trick.
She quickly moved to a dominant pose above him. Straddling his pelvis while using her feet and hands to restrain his legs and arms. She was hot and sweat was glistening atop her skin. "Ok,...O'Connell...what the hell was that?" She panted with a questioning look.
Drew suddenly realized the position he was in. Jasmine Chaudhary was forgotten and when he glanced back to where he'd seen her seconds ago, she was gone. "You didn't see her? You didn't hear her?" he asked the Orion hybrid.
Shalie couldn't help but look confused. "Uh...who?" she said as she with a slight shake of her head.
Drew gave her a confused look for a moment before regaining his wits. With a sly smile, he said seductively, "Quite the compromising position you've got me in, Lieutenant. Round two goes to you."
Grabbing her arms, Drew half rolled her onto the floor and pressed his weight against her. His eyes locked on hers and he could see the emotions roiling there. The questions. Was this another mistake? Another fluke? He wondered the same and yet was not surprised to find himself kissing her as they lay on the rubber mat together.
Shalie didn't fight it even though she knew she should. "Mmm...what about round three?" she said with desire in her voice.
Drew couldn't help himself. "Pretty sure I'll come out on top." He leaned in to kiss her, unable to deny the attraction any longer.
