Maria Traho had come on board the Archimedes for one reason and that was because she had been bored on Earth. She felt she needed a holiday and, having used up all her holodeck and flight rations, decided on the next best thing, which was a spell on a little ship.

She had managed to gain access to active ships' details by chatting prettily to the flight controller at the Academy and came away with not only the information she wanted but also the promise of a dinner date.

She had looked through the details of all the ships and noticed that Lucy Carter was on board the Archimedes. Lucy had been so helpful to her at the Academy that this was an opportunity not to be missed.

All she had then needed to do was persuade that darling Admiral Nield that she should broaden her horizons. That little exercise had only taken one evening of her time and now she was where she wanted to be. As always. On board the Archimedes.

She tapped her combadge "Maria Traho to the Captain."

As Lane looked up from his dinner plate across the table at Lorelai, she sighed at him and pulled a childish face. “Rory,� he chastised. She merely rolled her eyes at him and then proceeded to look away.

“Lane here, Ensign. Go ahead.�

"Sorry, sir, but I was just dropped off here by an Ensign in a shuttle. I have never served on board a ship before and don't know the etiquette. How can you ever forgive me being so rude?"

“Ensign,� Lane replied after a pushing his plate forward on the table, “if you could contact Yeoman Andrews. He can facilitate your arrival.�

Maria made a mental note of the Ensign's name and pressed on.

"I was rather hoping that I could help out in sickbay, sir, if it's not too much trouble." Maria fancied the idea that a nurse was a dead easy job and allowed for plenty of relaxation time, as well as being able to meet all the crew.

“Ensign,� he began again after she did not take the hint, “contact Yeoman Andrews and then he can arrange a chat with Lieutenant Mabren. See if he can arrange you on his staff.�

"I will do, sir. And may I say what an absolute pleasure it will be serving with such a distinguished leader. Your reputation in Starfleet is legendary. I do so hope you can spare the time to meet me soon."

“Well,� the captain started with, “thank you very much for saying so. Once you are settled and organised, I will call you to my ready room and introduce myself formally. Lane out.� Her demeanour was flattering, the Trill could sense even through the comm. transmission. Nield’s little pet, he knew that her wiles were what got her to where she was.

Maria flicked her hair behind her shoulders and tapped her combadge again. "Ensign Maria Traho to Yeoman Andrews."

"Andrews here. How can I help."

"Oh hello there, Yeoman. I am new on board and am really rather lost. I don't suppose you could help me? My bag is awfully heavy too."

"No problem, Ensign Traho. I'm on my way."

Maria's practised velvet voice had once again worked its magic on another victim and five minutes later, she was in on of the ship's nicer quarters, her bag carefully placed at the foot of her bed. Plus, Yeoman Andrews had promised to buy her a drink later in a new holodeck pub simulation he had discovered.

Maria looked around her quarters and smiled. This was going to be fun.
