The bath was full and warm again and Admiral Nield had positioned his viewscreen so that he could contact Captain Lane without having to get up. He ran his fingers through his thin, greasy hair and instructed a direct channel to be opened to the USS Archimedes' Captain.

The Starfleet emblem disappeared and was replaced by the face of Captain Lane.

"Lane. Admiral Nield here."

Wincing a little at the sight of an over-weight and gluttonous man sloshing about in the murky bath of water wasn’t the best starts to the day the Captain could have predicted. “Admiral,� he offered, short and curtly.

Nield pressed on, regardless. "I have a proposition for you." He paused to take an enormous swig of champagne from an oversized glass. A delicate foot fleetingly appeared at the very bottom corner of the viewscreen and playfully danced over Nield's chest. It retreated as soon as the Admiral put down the glass.

"I have a young Ensign in the Academy who I think would benefit from being on board your ship. She could help out in Engineering, perhaps."

“Admiral, I appreciate the thought,� Lane replied, holding up his hand, “but, I have a full crew and what with the situation being as it is, a new crewmember sent from Command is the last thing we need…�

"I don't want to hear excuses, Lane, I want Maria Traho on board your vessel by 19:00 hours next Monday. I am sure you will find her as... enchanting as I have." He cleared his throat with slight embarrassment as the foot reappeared again in the viewscreen. This time it was accompanied by giggling and a splashing sound.

“Understood, Admiral,� Lane deadpanned, making his feelings on the situation rather clear to Nield, however, the distraction of the female form overshadowed the Trill’s subtle insubordination and he was merely acknowledged with a abrupt, "Good. Nield out."

The insignia of the UFP quickly blipped into view as Lane shuddered at the image. An Admiral’s pet sent to curl up on my ship, he thought to himself with a heavy sigh. That’s all we need!
