=A= Ensign Carter to Ensign Turoc =A=
=A= Turoc here =A=
=A= Hi there, Ensign. I heard that your behaviour restraint has been removed and wondered if you were all right? Would you like to come to my office to talk about it?=A=
Carter was feeling guilty about the torture Turoc must have undergone at her suggestion and wanted to set things right.
=A= Sure I'll be there in about 5 minutes; everything seems to be in order here so they can spare me for a while.=A= he responded not sure how to react.
Eight minutes later Turoc was in the Counsellor's office. He seemed tired to Carter and she was even more concerned. As before, she tried to get as close to his eye level as possible and sat on her desk, looking at him with a pleasant expression on her face.
"Ensign, I am so pleased you decided to come to see me. I admire your self restraint at not having once lost your temper in the past week." She smiled at him and nodded slightly, indicating that it was his turn to speak. "Please, won't you take a seat?"
As he sat in chair listening as creaked "I found an outlet for my anger in my holodeck training exercises." The chair gave another creak" I think you need stronger chairs if we are going to sit for sessions, Counsellor."
Carter smiled at that and said "I think you will find that Starfleet issue chairs are more robust than you think.
She continued "so how have you been feeling?"
"Not sure but I don't want rip anyone's head off yet."
"Well that's a good thing, at least!" She almost broke into a laugh but decided it would be unwise. "Do you think you would like to talk through anything with me?" She crossed her legs, her arms on the rests on the chair, hands with palms turned up. Open.
Turoc caught the tail end of Carter's brief amusement by detecting the faintest of smiles on her face. He got to his feet immediately and towered above the counsellor, his voice booming.
"ARE YOU LAUGHING AT ME, COUNSELLOR?"
"No!" Replied Carter, her stomach dropping with what she could only describe as sheer terror. Turoc was enormous and she got up, ready to move quickly if need be.
"I think you are," he said. His fists clenched into hard knots and his breathing quickening. He turned on his heel and approached the door. "Nobody laughs at me" he snarled as the doors opened.
He took a stride into the corridor. Crew members scurried past in fear as they saw him exit. Carter ran after him into the corridor but he suddenly stopped and turned to face her. She just managed to prevent herself from running into him and she twisted her head upwards to meet his angry gaze.
"NOBODY LAUGHS AT ME" he repeated with much more force than was necessary. He turned again and was gone.
Carter was left, breathless and bewildered outside her office, other crew members giving her sideways looks. Finally, she took a deep breath and went back into her office, the doors sliding shut behind her.
Not a great meeting.
