Ripples
Location: Eye of Ra
Timeline: Before Mission
OLD:
"Oh and Ensign." Jack said softly before whispering into Harry's ear. "Ra's a he. Try to keep that in mind."
"A He?" asked Harry asking the question.
NEW:
John nodded his head, looking over to Harry with a smirk. "Yes. Ra identifies himself as a male. When we upgraded his program we weren't sure whether or not we wanted to have a female or male voice responding to our queries, so we asked and the Ra chose to be identified as a male. So, from then on, Ra was referred in the male context."
"Sorry Ra, I didn't know about this," replied Harry looking back at John, he continued," Nice to meet you," as he patted the side of the craft. he finished," I'll try not to damage you," as he knew ships like this were hard to handle first time out
"No apologize needed, Ensign Steven's. This information is new to you and will require some adjustment to your usual speech routine." Ra replied in his deep male voice. "Would you prefer I use a different moniker for you?"
"Well I do love Archery," replied Harry looking back at John as thinking about the last time he had shot a round, He thought to himself ~ Must remember to put in some scores to the postal league,~ as he smiled again and patted Ra again.
"If you come up with something just let him know. In the meantime, let's get your setup." John said as he patted Harry on the shoulder and looked up slightly. "Ra?"
"Yes, John." Ra replied.
"Setup Ensign Steven's with a basic user profile and hook him up with a print for console use." John said firmly, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Happy to do so, John." Ra replied as a console lit up by Harry. In the middle of the console was an outline of a palm. "Please place your palm in the designated area, Ensign Steven's."
As Harry placed his palm on the scanner, Harry asked, "So what's the basic user Profile then?" quizzically as the screen started taking a print of his palm as he continued to think of a Tag name for Ra to Use. Then it dawned on him what about Bowman?
"Hey John I have just thought of a tag name for Ra to call me by" Harry stated looking back at John as the printing continued to take hold.
John looked over to Jack before returning his gaze to Harry. "Okay, Kid. Hit me with it?"
"What about Bowman?" asked Harry.
John gave a slight chuckle and nodded his head. "That is a good one, but let's not worry about that now. First, lets get you figured out here." He looked over to Crow and just before he was about to say something the door to one of the backrooms opened as Morgana walked out.
She stood there in her own elegance, PADD in hand and hair tired in a high ponytail, before walking the rest of the way in toward an open console. She tapped it quickly and than, tapped something into her PADD before looking over to the team that had gathered. "Gentlemen." She said softly in a British accent before looking back to her PADD.
"Hey Doll." Jack replied quickly before Morgana raised her head slightly and gave him a stern stare. "I mean, Boss.... Doll?" He gave her a slightly raised brow before chuckling softly. She only responded by shaking her head and looking back down to the PADD. "Anyway, we're giving the new guy a tour so he can get more acquainted with the Ra."
"No, you're not." Morgana replied as she looked up with a slightly cold stare.
"We're... not?" Jack said softly, looking over to John before looking back to Morgana.
"No." Morgana said before adding. "John and you are to finish up repairs on the Ra. Gary is going go through his preflight checklist. Boss want's the Ra ready to leave and I don't want any problems while out there. You will double check and than triple check all your work. If one malfunction occurs while out there I am going to hold you two personally responsible and have you clean this entire shuttle bay."
"That's doesn't seem too difficult." John replied softly.
Morgana looked over to him and adding firmly. "On your hand's and knee's with just a toothbrush."
Jack rolled his eyes and looked over to John. "You had to say something?" He shook his head before looking back over to Morgana and adding. "What about the Ensign?"
"I'll continue his tour before Gary introduces him to the helm controls." Morgana replied, tucking her PADD under her arm.
John and Jack both looked at each other before walking away.
"See you later, Kid." John replied loudly.
"If you survive." Jack added playfully before letting out a chuckle and leaving the shuttle with John.
