"Yes, feel free to stop by after you finish playing in your dirt, Miss Michaels." Grimshaw replied before looking to Orin quickly and adding. "Sheriff... I need you to kick out one of my tenants. He is refusing to leave and pay for an additional night."
[NEW]
Orin raised a brow, surprised this wasn't another game between her and Mister Turner, before replying. "Miss Grimshaw..."
"Abigail, Sheriff." She replied quickly with a smile.
"Miss Grimshaw... If you give me a few moments to walk to the Sheriff Station and speak to my Deputy I will be more then happy to deal with your current problem." Orin replied with a half smile and nodding his head a bit.
"I see." Grimshaw said, looking between T'mpest and Orin, before adding. "I'll expect him gone by the afternoon, Sheriff." She soon turned and walked away.
Orin let out a sigh before replying. "Did I forget to mention I didn't program this and its all my teams fault?"
"No, you did not forget." She couldn't help giving him an impish smile. "It would seem that she wants you to give the situation your...personal attention. Has she offered to rub your back?"
"Do you realize how many times I had to turn down her offers for a free bath? There are only so many excuses I can come up with." Orin said softly before chuckling.
She, too, chuckled softly. "She appears to be quite determined, but definitely not your type. What problems does she have with this Mr. Turner?"
"Yes. I prefer my woman to be the type to play in the dirt." Orin said before adding with a smile. "Her and Mister Turner have been going at it, in one way or another, since I started this program. Every once and a while she accuses him of something, and in turn, he accuses her of something. Usually its small stuff that usually ends in a talking to and then it settles down for a while until it starts up again."
"Perhaps we should have a visit with Mr. Turner. Then you can show me this archaeological site--if there is one." She looked down at her clothes. "I should also get something more appropriate to wear. Then we can go visit your friend."
"First, we should touch base with Yas." Orin replied with a smile as he took her hand and began to walk with her. "The people here call him Bravestar. He is a Native American. Navajo Tribe. Great deputy."
"Navajo? I look forward to meeting him."
After passing a few places they both made it to the Sheriff Station. Orin climbed the three small steps until finally walking through the door. Inside it seemed pretty nice with a fireplace in the back and only two chairs and a small table. There were two desks. One was decorated with a photo and a few period pieces while the other seemed plan and only had one thing on it. A native american talisman which was recognized as a piece that encourages good health. To the back were two metal cells which fit two, maybe three, people each.
"Yas?" Orin shouted slightly.
"Here, Orin." Yas replied as he walked out from a door in the back. "I was making sure all the weapons were cleaned." He approached the two with a smile, wearing a white buttoned shirt, tanned vest, and black pants. He had a holster on his right thigh and a white hat which he had rested behind his neck. His hair was long and brown with a braid hanging on the left side of his face which dawned a feather in it. He spoke softly as he said. "Miss Grimshaw was here looking for you. I told her you were out on business. She's-"
"Having trouble with a tenant." Orin replied. "I heard. She stopped me as I came into town. Yas? Allow me to introduce to you to T'mpest Michaels. An Archeologist who has come a long way for a visit."
"Pleasure to meet you, Miss Michaels." Yas said softly with a bit of an elegant tone as he extended his hand and smiled.
"The pleasure is mine," she said, taking his hand. She was curious about what Orin would keep on his desk, but that was something she'd check out later.
"Are you here on business or pleasure?" Yas asked as he leaned against his desk.
T'mpest glanced at Orin. "A little of both," she admitted.
"I hope our town is to your liking." Yas said with a bit of a smirk before adding. "While the people here are interesting its a nice place to hang your bonnet."
She put a hand to her head. "If I had one. I am...not dressed appropriately for coming to town." She glanced at Orin. "This is more comfortable for my field work."
Orin smiled a bit, hearing the conversation, before walking to his desk. He opened a drawer on the bottom and removed a long rectangular wooden box. He soon removed a key from under his desk before slipping it into the box and turning it with a click. Orin soon placed his hands on the side of the box as an odd, and more modern mechanical click, was softly heard which released the final lock.
"We have a clothing store in town. Mrs. Valentine. Perhaps she can arrange something for you to wear." Yas replied, looking over to Orin. "I am sure she can arrange something for you. She has a good standing with the Sheriff."
"Oh?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Orin chuckled softly as he opened a drawer and removed his belt with two empty holsters. One for his right hip and the other was resting in front of the belt. "I help her with the wagon that brings in her supplies. Carried some boxes and fabrics in. It's no big deal."
"She is grateful. You've been a good Sheriff and you keep these people safe. Let them show their appreciation." Yas replied, crossing his arms over his chest with a smirk.
Orin removed a pair of gold long barrel revolvers from the box. Each gun had a white pearl handle and engravings. Carved on the pearl grip of each gun was an Andorian symbol that stood for Peacekeeper He slipped each revolver into the holsters and slowly removed the sheriff's badge from the box, putting it on. "I'm just doing my job, Yas. And in case you forgot. I don't do it alone."
T'mpest liked Yas. "How many other women show their gratitude?" she asked, giving Orin a teasing smile.
