Sam tapped a string of instructions onto the console. It had taken him two days to correctly align the Archimedes subspace array, since some genius back at the yards had forgotten to do that little task after the shakedown. So what should have been a ten minute job to set up a link to the Nagasaki's CIC took him forever. Finally however it was ready. Tapping the activate button he opened a comm line to where the Nagasaki should be.

"Archimedes to Nagasaki, come in please."

The image on the screen was replaced with a young Ensign sitting in front of several consoles. Behind him, the Nagasaki CIC was full of crewmembers going about their duties. "This is Nagasaki CIC."

"This would be Chief Jackson, Chief Ops on the Archimedes, I've been asked to set up a standing subspace link to you."

The Ensign chuckled, "So you'll be working with Chief Andrews. She's on Citadel Prime, commanding the CIC we set up there. They should be up and running, I’ll transmit the con line frequency and codes to you now."

"Understood, thanks"

A moment later the Ensign look back up from his console, "Transmitting now Chief. We'll keep a open system link between the Nagasaki and Archimedes as well."

"Again you have my thanks"

The image switched from the Nagasaki's CIC to the much more scaled down CIC on Citadel Prime. A young woman's face filled the screen. She let out a sign, and pulled some loose hair out of her face, "Andrews here."

"Chief Warrant Officer 2nd Class Sam Jackson, aboard the US Archimedes. I've been asked to set up a standing subspace link with you." he repeated his earlier statement, almost word for word.

Casey nodded, "Not a problem Chief. We can have the link set up, for now and keep it going through out your stay here. All secure information can be passed through the linkup, without to much worry of someone else tapping in. Still, I'll have some of the encryption guys here work their magic so we no for sure."

"I'll have our people do the same this end, give us some redundancy."

Casey smiled, "Sounds like a plan. I look forward to meeting you in person."
