Mission: What Dreams May Come
Location: Various

[CONTINUED]

"No, this is all in your head, just don't think about it," Lieutenant Blake told himself as he sat in the middle of the bed with his eyes firmly closed attempting to block out the scene that surrounded him. His room had turned into a lake of turbulent water, the sole item which had avoided the waters grasp so far was the bed of which Blake was marooned on. If the churning waters wasn't enough to put the man on edge the sight of sharp fins breaking the surface bought him out in a cold sweat.

With a sudden yelp Blake was on his feet standing upon the mattress clutching a pillow fruitlessly against his bear chest as if clinging desperately to some sort of childish comfort blanket. Water now lapped at his bare feet causing him to shiver as the icy water splashed across his ankles. "Its all dream," he repeated to himself. "Ahhh - shhh - that's so cold," he hissed as a wave swept up to his shins.

Now fuelled with sheer panic he padded through ankle deep water over the bed in search of higher ground keeping a weary eye on the sharks that circled. "This really isn't happening," he shivered looking around himself for a means of escape. Tossing aside the pillow aiming for the closest shark which broke the surface close by Blake leapt for another piece of furniture which seemed to escape the waters clutches. His hopefully attempt however wasn't overly successful as wet feet slipped on the shiny surface of the floating desk and sent him into the inky water with a strangled cry.

Expected the sudden cold rush of water engulf him Dylan shouted with alarm when he thudded firmly against dry carpet driving the wind from his lungs. Dazed he awkwardly sat up right trying to make sense of what had just happened when the sound of a piecing scream cut through his thoughts.

Staggering to his feet he ran through his done dry room and out into the corridor where the source of the commotion sounded.

~~~~
It was late and Miranda hoped that she could get to the lounge without running into too many people. So far she'd been able to avoid most of the chaos because she worked in a quite lab, but she'd heard plenty from the others in her department.
She turned a corner and practically stepped on a small rabbit that seemed to be standing guard. "Hi, little fella," she said, bending over to pet the bunny on the head.
But before she could get too close it launched itself at her, aiming for her neck...
Just then someone screamed and the rabbit changed direction in mid jump and raced down the corridor. Miranda watched the rabbit turn a corner and then turned back to continue on her way and ran into the man who screamed, letting out a squeal of her own.
Miranda looked at the man, wide-eyed, trying very hard to not look at what he wasn't wearing. "Sorry."
[Corridor]
His footsteps were unmistakable. How many times had Adriana thought she’d heard them in her dreams after the attack? She started to run in the opposite direction. He was coming for her, for her baby, she had to get away to protect her baby. God only knew what a man like him would do to a half-Human Bajoran baby. She had a horrible vision of a sack being dropped into a river- the way they used to dispose of unwanted mongrel puppies in the barbaric and disturbing past.
She wasn’t able to run. For just a moment she wished she had the body she’d had before Little One. She’d been able to run then; she’d be able to protect her child if she could run. Instead she was practically waddling. A slow pace like this would never get her and Little One away from the danger.
Her husband- her Morai- he thought she was crazy. He’d had the computer do a sensor sweep and claimed there was no danger. But she knew what she’d seen and she could almost feel the whip on her back again, hear it cracking around her ears as her captors tormented and terrorized her. She kept a hand on the wall for balance as she stumbled down the hall as fast as she could, looking for a turbolift and a means of escape.
[COUNSELING OFFICE]
Keen was in his office when the jolt hit him, he was going over some reports when he saw a name... How could the computer have missed that name, the member of the Circle that had dare to whip Kitten in public view then dump her onto Deep Space Nine like a pile of garbage? The name stared him in the face as a new member of the Diplomatic Corps. What a damn laugh; that man being diplomatic; his slogan of Bajor for Bajorans was inciting discord and the United Federation of Planets allowed such scum to be on this ship? He dashed out of his office.
"Computer Locate Adriana Keen..." He demanded, hoping he was not too late.
[Corridor]
Adriana almost fell into a turbolift, gasping for breath. She turned and locked the door and then stopped. Where would be safe? Home, her quarters? He would look for her there. Brex Hadar was a racist bigot, hateful and dedicated to a perverse cause, but he wasn't entirely stupid. Morai's office? No, that wouldn't be safe either. Brex would look there. And Morai just thought she was seeing things; he would placate her and maybe take her to sickbay but he wouldn't take her seriously.
She froze in indecision and stared at the control panel, with no idea of what to do next.
=^= Kitten...=^= Morai's voice was scared. =^= HAdar joined the ship manifest. The sensors accepted him as crew that is why sweep missed him as intruder...=^= He was trying not to panic. =^= I am leaving my office get to my deck fast and I will intercept. I *will* be there for you and make sure little one is okay as well. =^=
