Meeting the Captain... Barely.

Posted on Sat Feb 7th, 2009 @ 10:32pm by Ensign Turoc & Captain Elsie Halliwell

789 words; about a 4 minute read

Mission: Restricted Independent Operations
Location: Deck 1, Lane's Ready Room
Timeline: Current

As Turoc stepped onto the bridge, everyone began to stare as he was the first of his kind that they had seen. His ritual amour with massive ape like skull on his right shoulder and smaller human like one mounted on a thin pole extending above the other, and another small one in middle of the blue loin cloth.

He asked "Where is our leader. Looking for the alpha male of pack none of them seemed to be capable of that role to him.

The duty officer on the Bridge was a little surprised and taken aback by the colossal being stood before him.

“Commander Lane is in his Ready Room… I – uh – is he expecting you??

"Yes." Turoc growled as headed towards the ready room and pressed the chime.

Hearing the chime sound throughout his Ready Room, the Trill placed down the PADD he was reading on top of the desk and announced, “Enter.

Turoc entered the ready room staring at the small figure there behind the desk with his head crocked to side. "You are the leader of this clan?" he inquired.

The Ensign before him was clearly distinctive. He knew who he was immediately as the Ready Room doors breathed open. Taken aback by such a direct line of enquiry on his introduction, the Trill did not even rise.

“Mr. Turoc, I presume?? he said, matter-of-factly. “Come in, if you please. I am, indeed, the commanding officer of this vessel. Welcome aboard.

"You, Small, fragile creature how did you prove yourself to be leader of this pack." Turoc sneered.

The Trill was never quick to anger, and yet something about the new Assistant Chief Security/Tactical Officer struck a very disconcerting cord within him. Standing steadily to his feet, the Commander’s voice turned short, clipped and authoritative.

“Ensign, I am not very clear as to how your previous commanding officer ran your last ship, however, let me make one thing completely clear. My service record is none of your concern. Now, I have allowed for certain… misgivings on behalf of your cultural and hereditary upbringing. That is one thing. But out and out insubordination is something quite different all together. And I will not tolerate it on this vessel. Am I understood, Ensign??

Turoc roared. His back arched, and mandibles flared. He extended his wrist blade. "You weak, little creature. You dare challenge me?? I’ll kill you in one blow." he sneered, taking an offensive posture.

Taking a step back, the Commander rounded his desk and briskly tapped his combadge to the responsive twitter. “Security, get in here immediately.

Within a heartbeat, the doors to the Ready Room steamed open and four burly security officers raced in. Taking one look at the offensive stance the Yajuta was holding, two of them tackled him to the ground. “Take him to the brig, Lane ordered.

As they turned and started out the door Turoc threw the security officers flying. With a mighty swing he turned back to Lane "Next time fight me yourself, I summit to your leadership for now," he said as he kneeled and bowed his head slightly.

“ENSIGN TUROC!! he yelled at the Yajuta. Incensed and beyond pacification. “I am hereby relieving you from active duty until I decide what to do with you. You are confined to quarters and stripped of the privileges your rank and position afford you. Never in all my years serving with Starfleet have I suffered such disobedience from a member of my crew. I cannot have someone with your lack of discipline serve on my vessel, let alone on my crew. And as a Senior member of my Security team!!

“Get out of my sight and I will deal with you in the following few days. There will be severe repercussions for your outburst, Ensign. Severe!!

Turning to the two security officers still standing, he motioned to them to remove the Ensign from his Ready Room and the Bridge.

"As you wish, may I assume my weapons will be taken?" Turoc said as he stood

“Everything, Turoc. Everything!! You don’t threaten your Commanding Officer and carry on as normal. Now leave!!

With that, the two security officers disarmed the Yajuta and led him out of the Reday Room and to his quarters.

Visibly shaking with not only fear but with unmanageable rage, the Commander sat down and, trembling, picked up his coffee cup. Tapping his combadge quickly he managed…

=A= Lane to Commander Arkham: Could you please report to my Ready Room immediately?? We have a problem… =A=

OOC:you do know his last command was a KLINGON ship
