Mission: What Dreams May Come
Location: The Edmorn
Timeline: Right after "Belly of the Beast"

// Transporter Room Two

Lieutenant J.G. Rami Miral had been called to help with the away team at the last minute, in case there was anything she could find. As an intel officer, she tended to look in odd places for information and with a crashed ship, her talents might come in handy. She disliked EVA suits as they restricted movement, but under the circumstances, she understood the need for caution. She walked into the transporter room dressed and ready for departure.

Now with Miral's involvement and presence, it wasn't long before all the summoned staff were crowded in the smallish space garbed in similar EVA suits, one of the only differences being the coloured trim of each to advertise the departmental colour of the occupant. Rylie had been waiting patiently for each to arrive sitting on one of the front pads gazing at her faint reflection in the glass of the helmet she held in front of her, and really weighing up all the possibilities of this away mission.

The last time she'd led one of these, while no crew members were lost, the entire team were captured by rebels, and one was seriously injured. It was hard not to let that play on her conscience. She'd started her briefing for that mission in the same place too. "All right," she said as she stood, "We haven't received the formal go order as yet, but I think it will be coming. As you are probably aware, we've located wreckage confirmed as the Edmorn. T'kaarch is attempting to link up a probe to their computer system now in an attempt to find out what happened to them, but in case that fails, we're here ready to go over there and do what the probe can't, to find out what happened."

Blake stared blankly ahead hearing the Commander's voice filter through on the internal comm. Already he could feel himself sweating under the padding on his suit. It was a mixture of the normal bout of adrenaline he received during these agonizing moments before departing the ship and the odd, unsettling recollection from the previous nights dream. The dream of suffocating...in a EVA suit.

"Understood, Commander," Jensen replied, feeling his skin crawl inside the EVA suit. He found it slightly hard to breathe inside the claustrophobic suit. He tried to shake off the feeling, but found it hard to do so, what with him picking up on the feelings of those around him. Particularly Blake's aversion to the suits.

And then it clicked into place. Jensen had to chuckle at himself as the feeling of claustrophobia subsided almost as soon as it had come. He'd been picking up on Blake's emotional response to the suits. He mentally checked himself and made sure to breath evenly; otherwise everyone else's emotions would make this away mission a bit difficult.

The internal com notice suddenly sounded, and T'mpest's voice came through, "Michaels to Cattmor. The probe was unsuccessful. Take your team over to the Edmorn -- and be careful."

Cattmor took a small breath - this was it, again, and another mission making her insides churn. "Acknowledged, we're on our way." she stated before addressing the assembled group, "Does anyone have any questions?"

Blake shook his head, then voiced his movement since most couldn't see his face. "No, sir."

"None from me, ma'am," Foster intoned, feeling mentally prepped and ready for whatever was to be found on the Edmorn.

"No, ma'am," Miral said.

The doors to the transporter room opened as Orin walked in. He had on an unusual looking EVA suit. It was all black, but faded slightly due from wear and tear. Under his arm he held his helmet which had on a custom glass which appeared similar to standard glass used in similar Starfleet suits. "Sorry. I had to dig this bad boy out. It's been a long time since I used it."

Slowly he lowered his head and closed his eyes, removing his goggles from his face. He ran his hand long side the suit until he reached a pocket and tucked the goggles into it to keep on him for when he needed them. After that, he slowly removed his helmet from under his arm and lock it into place. Which his eyes still closed his reached to the control panel on his other arm and tapped in a code that tinted the glass of the helmet so that it no one could see though it. Finally he opened his eyes and walked over to an empty spot on the transporter pad. "Again. My apologize. Ready when you arm, Captain."

"Then let's get this over with. Chief, set us down in the aft engineering section." And after all the others stepped on to the pads, Rylie put on her own helmet, and the team were off with an: "Energize."
