| Physical Description | David has deep-set, royal blue eyes with a mere hint of mint green mixed in. His hair is a shade of dark brown, almost charcoal black, depending on the light. Its cut reasonably short and usually exhibits an unkempt and to some extent, scruffy looking texture. It’s a regular look since he’s always running his hands through it. His height is average for a Westerner from Earth. With an average build and weight for his age, his figure is anything but dark and intimidating. David’s not overly healthy but likewise not quite unfit either. His smile is warm yet not overly friendly and at times a little sad, as if he doesn’t quite believe he himself can be content. Everything about him naturally seems… average, he doesn’t have one of those faces that stand out easily and in a crowd he just seems to blend right in. Normally he is clean shaven, but his as his mood varies so does the level of stubble. When he can get away with it, purely down to utter laziness, he’ll let it grow for a while. Clothing wise, David’s wardrobe consists of mostly smart-causal wear, jeans, loosely fitting t-shirts and an occasional shirt or two with his favourite brown suede jacket. |

| General Overview | He enjoys a good laugh with the few close friend he has which are few and far between. Making him seem to be more closed in on himself rather than friendly. Although he has a particularly good knack for being able to stroll into any type of place, be it an inn, bar etc; and striking up conversation with anyone. A talent hardly used, but one that quite normally shocks those to witness such events as he doesn't come off as the extremely social type. While being an overly quiet man, he's not one to hold back on those whom become more of an annoyance to him than any help. Occasionally he'll allow himself the satisfaction of dumbing down to simpler levels of intellect to take a quick dig at those whom allow themselves to walk into it. He likes to keep on neutral ground with those around him; he finds it a lot easier to work like this, as things such as relationships tend to get in the way of work and delicate situations. Something he learnt though personal experience. As a result, in general, he trusts nobody. He's also been known from time to time, to tactfully misplace work but in the end, he does do his job and tries not to make a habit of letting people down too much. |

| Personal History | Born to a small family living on Luna Colony, David had been brought up by Josh and Samantha Langford. For most of his childhood, he lived on the small family estate. Although it was a small family his parents were far from poor, and because of this, from an early age he was home schooled by his mother whom worked at a Scientific Research facility as a Biologist in her free time. His father on the other hand, a member of the Starfleet Science Corps. Spent more time away from home than at it. To make up for this, his father Josh, when home from one of his archaeologist digs. Would make sure that David received a strict up bringing and wealthy education on top of what his mother was already teaching him. David never really liked this at all, always getting into trouble off his father for the smallest of things. Even his free time wasn't really "Free" when his father was home. However, David was an intelligent child from an early age and his over exposed education soon lead him to a life of great achievements and ultimately his current life style. He attended to his education for most of his childhood, doing little else apart from keeping his head down in his books. Thus taking him to the official age of enrolment at Starfleet Academy where he could yet again further his education even more. David's mother wasn't that fond of the idea, believing that his father had encouraged him to join Starfleet Academy with bold stories, almost to the point of pushing him to join rather than letting him make his own choices. However, David greatly looked forward to the new experience having done nothing much else apart from studying in his room. Upon the move from his home on Luna Colony to Starfleet Academy in San francisco. David served his time, excelling in the areas of Communications and Engineering study and eventually achieved his Major in Engineering. While learning a great deal in his time at the Academy, he tended to shy away from doing anything more than studying and as a result, made few friends. The friends he did make, were for the most part, like himself. Spending most of there time together in study groups rather than anything else. Given his outstanding achievements in his chosen areas of study. Upon Davd's graduation from the Academy he was offered a position among some of the brightest Starfleet minds on Jupiter Station such as the likes of Dr. Zimmerman. There he spent the first year of his career as a Junior Engineer working on many small projects and bringing his own talents to them. He enjoyed every minute of his time stationed on the outpost but at the end of the year Starfleet required him to transfer back to Earth. During his time on earth, and thanks to his work on many project (now classified by Starfleet) he earned himself a promotion. But as his time on earth went by, he couldn't help but feel an urge to return back to Jupiter Station where, at the time, the forefront of scientific advancements were taking place. He tried on many occasions to push for a transfer back to the station but every attempt was blocked by Starfleet for one reason or another. Ironically when he had just started to settle down on Earth and even managed to snag himself a girlfriend. Starfleet finally approved his transfer request meaning that he would have to say goodbye to his new lover, a young engineering officer by the name of Lily Goldfield. A beautiful blond haired girl who was just as intelligent as himself. She seemed to bring out the best in his highly neglected social life. However short lived it was. David soon regressed back into his closed off social world aboard Jupiter Station. Eventually even neglecting "long distance" girlfriend for his work. Where he failed in his social life he seemed to advance strongly in his own career steadily making his way up to the career ladder. Mean while, as his career with Starfleet progressed so did his addiction to work. Becoming more and more obsessed until eventually after one long night in particular when he had even neglected sleep in his addiction to his work. He inadvertently put another colleague in danger while running a dangerous experiment. He fell asleep at his console. David's work college did manage to avert death but it was at a price. This tragedy and seemingly neglect to his work by putting those around him in risk. He was shifted back over to earth and the incident was made classified due to the highly sensitive nature of the experiment that was involved in the incident. David went back to Earth where he was demoted in rank and advised to take some leave by Starfleet councillors. He grudgingly took the leave and over time accepted the fact with some help in counselling. There after, worked over several months to turn his life around from the slight mess he had made it. After some time when he was finally cleared mentally to return back to duty, he took up an assisting teaching spot at the Academy in San-Francisco. There he worked until eventually he felt he needed something more, something a little more adventures than text books. In a radical change in career move he decided to apply for a position aboard a starship... the USS Magellan, where he served as Assistant Chief Engineer until he was yet again transferred by order of Starfleet. |
